1TallTxn,
You are alot closer than Proffitt's, you want to convert another :grinpimp: I want to put a 4BT in my 62 when the 3FE dies.

Keep up the great work.

Mark
6BT all the way!!!

nah, the 4B should do just fine.

My dad is a pretty darn good fabricator (it ain't super pretty, but its functional) but I don't think that this would be all that hard if you were decent with a welder

Morning, where did ya pic the tires up at? what kinda rims?
Tires and Rims we got from the Alvarado tire shop (don't remember the name, its right next to the post office) I have no idea what the rims are, the shop had a set of used 15x8's for cheap. They are an aluminum 8 spoke wheel. look pretty darn good if you ask me.

I have pics of them, but they are at home in the camera... so I will put them up later.

Actually his dad is pretty darn good at anything on a vehicle. Actually the whole family is pretty much about as nice as you can get. both the older boys can sling a wrench also, 1TallTXn aint to bad with a wrench either. I personally use there shop whenever I do not have the time to wrench on my rig myself. And have never had a single problem with any of the work. Good people!!!!!! Super honest also, hard to find in the auto industry.

Ya post more pics!!!!! Hey do you know anyone around that powder coats. I was thinking of powder coating my old stock wheels to run some mud tires on for trail running.
sorry, fresh out of info on that. that would be pretty cool to have 2 sets of wheels.

Oh, and thanks for the props

arg, I got the pics all resized for web use and put them on my flash drive to bring in this morning... and I left the flash drive at home

I will see if I can't get them put up this evening.

Wow. Simply wow.

I did not think that you could put the 6BT that far back in the engine bay. I thought that it had to be a much tighter fit in our FJs, but I guess not. Was it hard to shoehorn into the bay? Did you install with the tranny and TC already on?

Looking great.

Looks like it is coming along nicely. What will you do for braking? Hydroboost? Electronic vacuum pump? I went with the GM hydroboost that came on the Frito Lay van. Seems to work pretty good. Stops on a dime :)

Keep postin'

The engine, tranny and tcase all went in at the same time. we've since had to pull the NP241 t-case and are waiting for the adapter from advance adapters for the Toyota t-case.

Actually the engine pretty much just dropped into place. surpassingly easy, almost easy enough to make you wonder if you missed something...

Braking is going to be handled by the vacuum pump that is on the engine. I don't see any reason why this won't work.

Big bend was fun. I think the roads have gotten a little worse since last year. :D but it was still not hard running. Wish we could've gotten the FJ running, but thats the way it goes.

I ordered them the friday before thanks giving, so they should be here soon. After that its getting the drive shafts together and in place. and of course nailing down the million and one little things that need to get finished...

any updates :D ?

ya'll are an impatient bunch aren't ya? ;) :D

The t-case adapter is in and installed. We are waiting on bearings for the t-case, they were getting pretty rough.

So for the most part, were waiting on parts.

What are the basic dimentions of the 6bt? height from hood to oil pan, width and length from the fan to beginning of bellhousing, and from the front to the shifter hole, and total length. PLEASE...... I have grandeous ideas for a 80 series, seems that it fits just as good as any SBC v8 with the nv on the end. I am assuming that the radiator is from the cummins as well?, looks new.. Keep up the pics, and yes we are all an impatient bunch.

The radiator is from a '91 Dodge Cummins truck. a little wider then the hole, but will work just fine.

I don't have measurements for the 6BT, google might turn them up, but I don't know.

Tonight is slated for putting lower control arm bushings on the 'Stang so the FJ will sit a little longer.
I will make sure and take the camera for any upgrades on the FJ
