You are overthinking things..
the Dizzy cannot be spun 360*
Line up the BB on the flywheel with the pointer. Make sure you are on the compression stroke on #1.
Hold the dizzy in your hand. Put a mark on the housing where #1 spark plug wire goes. Pull the cap so you can put a corresponding mark on the cap mounting surface (marker please).
Put the dizzy in so that when fully seated the rotor points at the mark.
turn the truck over and push down on the dizzy to seat the dizzy into the oil pump.
align the rotor to the mark again and tighten the dizzy hold down clamp.
put the cap back on with all of the wires in the correct order.
Start the damn thing
BTW, before you do all of this, make sure you prime the oil pump with the screwdriver method. Pull the valve cover and spin the pump till oil comes out the rocker arms..
