I will be replacing all those parts you listed above with Toyota OEM including the radiator but Mexico spec. 16400-50360, double checked it is exact fit as U.S. spec but lower in price. Can you confirm part number for Fan Clutch 16210-50051? And did you also replace Fan Pulley 16371-0F010

Also found in another related thread that is good practice to replace Clamp, wiring harness 82711-43020, not sure if this is one of those parts that wears over time? Not too expensive.

So I went with an Aisin fan clutch from RockAuto, I did not go with OEM. The only difference between the two that I could see is the OEM clutch requires bolts to secure the blades to the clutch, whereas the Aisin unit from RockAuto has studs in it which require nuts & washers. I did not replace the pulley and it does not need to be replaced unless there is damage to it; it’s just a stamped piece of steel. I simply swapped it over the the new bracket. As for the clutch part number, that does appear to be the correct one for the clutch.

I’m sure that wouldn’t be a bad thing to have on hand especially since it’s cheap, but it looks like that part just holds a wiring harness to the timing belt cover

Currently in the middle of doing some preventative maintenance. I have the radiator and fan bracket/clutch/blades/shroud all out. I just removed the tensioner assembly and I noticed that the OEM unit that I pulled off does not have the same size pulley as the Gates 38488 unit that I purchased as a replacement. I purchased this Gates assembly off Rock Auto and it said it would fit so I didn't even question it until now that I have them side-by-side. The OEM unit appears to have a 4" pulley, while the Gates replacement has a 3.5" pulley. What gives? Do I need to return this one and get the 4" pulley??

There are two options for 3 1/2 inch police like those found on my GX 470.

Hi @xcmountain
This is really strange…I have to report, that I did the full job three month ago. Serpentine belt and Timing Belt incl. all pulleys, waterpump etc.
I ordered all parts by myself and my mechanic did the job. I ordered from Partsouq, there‘s only the original smaller OEM tensioner pully available, hence I bought it. Re the serpentine belt length, this becomes an issue somehow. THere are different sizes available and I bought a Continental with length type 2241.
So far all went well, but just a week ago, my car made strange noise after startup, we investigated and figured out that the tensioner pulley broke down.
As I needed the car, we chose an aftermarket and there, only the original 4“ pulley was available…so I had to buy it and fix the problem. I hope I will run many years. Usually I only buy OEM parts.
Back to your question, if I would have the choice again, go for the bigger OEM size for your model. Mine is an 99 built and has the 4“ version

Just went thru this on my kid's 4Runner. Search is your friend. IIRC there was a change in serpentine belt gizmos, and the newer one (?) uses a smaller pulley than the old one, and they are not transferable. Also, the OEM pulley has two sets of bearings whereas all aftermarket pulleys only have one, ergo, the oem pulley lasts at least 2X as long as aftermatket. Best practice is to replace entire tensioner assembly because why not make life harder for oneself. Oh yeah...despite the diff in pulley diameters, the same serpentie belt is used as the tensioner takes up the slack.

@dealmaker
I used the same serpentine belt size. The Tensioner worked. The slack was not an issue, I confirm. Just wanted to let you know that the tensioner pulley broke after 13000 km. Might be just coincidence but maybe there's a constraint.
