It was scaring the s*** out of :princess: today.
With my history this isn't suprising.:grinpimp:
I need to get in there with the angle grinder and a cutoff blade. I know this has probably been beaten to death but what is everybody doing lately to trim up their front fenders?

I started at right where the fender starts to bend down at first, then I just removed them at the fender apron (I really like having inner fenders still)

Pictures?

I agree inner fenders will save a lot of wear and tear on electrical systems etc.

Hi All:

Thanks for the pic "Mace." Gives me a good idea of what areas of the fender to trim-off.

What would be your weapon (tool!) of choice to do this trim job?

Thanks!

Alan

first: tape it off

second: use one of the following: sawzall (fine toothed blade), jigsaw, or side grinder w/ cutwheel

third: you're done.

unless you're a surgeon with the cutwheel or at least have done a couple of jobs with one, the jigsaw is goin to be the easiest and most controllable. the sawzall is most likely to bend up the sheetmetal and is also goin to leave the roughest edge after the cut.

If you can get your hands on a plasma cutter that is by far the easiest tool to use. Just setup your border with a ruler and follow along. Next best option is a die grinder. Third choice, I personally like a cutoff wheel over any reciprocating saw when making any sort of straight cut, I guess I must be a surgeon.

Like Malphrus said, tape it off...

That will help you to get the shape right and make 'em match left to right.

Here are mine...

i perfer the cut off wheel, goes through like butter, we used a jigsaw on my budies i thought the jigsaw jumped around to much and like to catch itself when enough pressure wasnt applied imho

tape it to you liking and follow the lines.
