Anyone know where I can find some scale line drawings or blueprints of the 100-series (or any other Yotas, too), preferably with some sort of size reference included?

I'm going to make a scaled down model of my Hundy and want to get as accurate as possible. Sure, I could bust out the tape measure on my rig and go back and forth to a drawing or picture, but it would be much easier if the info is already out there somewhere.

I don't know about line drawings, but there are 3d models out there on the interwebs.

You could probably send a 3d file to a rapid prototyping machine and have one built for you. (I guess that takes all the fun out of it, eh)?

yeah, i've seen those 3D CAD files as well as the tabletop die-cast and plastic models out there but unfortunately i don't know how to do any of that computer stuff to get me some measurements; and I need a larger scale than the tabletop models for my application. anyone know how to pull measurements off one of those files?

what all this is getting at is that i'm hoping to use the scale drawings for reference, so that I can make an accurate clay model to the size i need. then i'm going to take a mold of this positive and bust out a new positive in plaster, which i'll then continue to tweak some more in order to make it work on a vacuum forming table.

eventually all this work will pay off with a 100-series Land Cruiser RC Scaler body that fits my Axial SCX-10 RC Crawler chassis :D

I know their are few die cast 100 models. They most likely would not fit on the SCX-10 chassis and ontop of that make it extremely top heavy.

Had these saved...they are not produced by me but we had a thread with them for some reason about two years ago

I'm sure we can get measurements but having the blueprint/sketch helps right?

I would go with a 3mm Lexan body. Only problem is you must design a cast. That will be quite a lot. Those drawings do not have specs on the body, you will have to find one with the overal dimensions and reduce those to your desired scale size. Which is 1/10th right?

I'll search some more

Axial claims 1/10th scale but according to people on rc crawler, the only thing 1/10 is the wheels and tires, everything else is 1/12 scale

Sweet! I'll just take that image and get some basic measurements off my Hundy to go with; I think it will work. I can also just put a grid over it and go to town. if I were making a styrene body I could see the need for really accurate measurements, but for vacuum forming I'm going to have to generalize a lot of shapes to get rid of undercuts anyways, so close counts.

I'm looking to use thick lexan or some other material to form the shell. Ill have to see what they have over at the plastics store and what they recommend. I'm pretty confident I can pull this thing off. I've never done any vac-forming before but I've got an art background and have made plenty of molds for casting ceramics and resin.

Probably not going to happen at the fastest pace, but I want it pretty bad, so it's definitely happening. If it turns out good I'd really like to make a 3rd gen pickup, since I've got one and those RC body's dont exist either. This will allow me to make my "Mini Hundy" as badass as some of you guys' rigs - since my wallet cant afford to mod my 1:1.

So do I get first dibs if you decide to sell these? Awesome plan! My 2 speed scx10 on dual motors can finally look badass:)

well, lets see how one comes out first :)

that is a mini z rc truck

Yeah, but that's awesome. You don't need a huge field to run it or a massive rock garden in your back yard.

I would so sell my Slash to get the Mini Z with a 100 body on it.

Yeah I knew it wasn't exactly what the OP was looking for but damn it was too cool not to post!
