I'm trying to retrofit a medley of front seats into my '62 and need some dimensions. pictures with dimensions would be even better:)

drivers side rear stilts/pivot brackets heights

drivers side front legs, that rest on tool box, heights

passenger side gap, front and rear, from bottom of seat frame to top of fuel tank

also do your '62 seat have springs or are they strictly padding with a rigid bottom

I'm out of town and won't be back for a few days. I should be able to come up with that info. I can do pictures and dimensions but not together. No of these days I guess I should play around eith a paint brush program. I do know the bottom of the seats were springs and not ridgid bottom. The jump seats had ridgid bottoms but don't believe the fronts did until 64. Your 59 seats should be close but because the 59 had a taller tool box the front legs on the driver's may be shorter.

fixed hinges too, did Whitey say if those were out of a '62 or a '61?

they also have the earlier ribbed backing and the earlier exposed corners.......................?
 
Hadn't forgot about it Sean. 105 on Labor day the day we got back. Mowed the lawn that hadn't been mowed in over three weeks. That done I have some time. Don't believe it but only suppose to be in the nineties today. I have some cruiser here in town but all covered. I did uncover the 62 tub and compared the driver's seat bracket to some I had from a 72. The 62 are a lot taller. Have you measured the height of the brackets in the posted pictures to your 59? I was surprised how tall the brackets on the 62 put the seat over the toolbox. Not sure they changed the brackets after the shorter toll box in mid 1960. Maybe early tomorrow morning I'll compared the 61 FJ40 to the early 60 FJ25 with the tall toolbox and see if there is a difference in brackets.

Sean I ran 71 FJ40 seats in my white 25 with the short toolbox with very little mods. Nothing to the 25. The brackets for the driver's seat were later shorter one and cleared the toolbox. The holes matched up on three of he four on the passenger's seat. I used longer bolts on the two holes towards the center. The front because the floor is flat on the 25 and raised on the 40 for the transfer shifter. The one on the back to lift the seat to match the outside which needed to be raised so the seat frame cleared the tank's fill neck on the soft top model.

I have '64 adjustable seat frames in the '62 right now, the only adjustment necessary for function is the "j hooks" for the drivers side tool box latches need to be relocated.

My main concern is the height of the two seats

(BTW I'm missing to latches from front of toolbox. Do you know where I might source some? ) I have a pair!! I think the seat brackets are from a 63 45 fixed top, these latches are from a 63 45 as well. $20 shipped in small flat rate box priority.
