Who has the Specter Tough Duck seat covers? Are they worth the money, or should I get the Wet Okoles?

My leather seats are thrashed in my 97 80 series, tired of having to hold loose leather down every time I get in.

The PO had installed them in my truck. They have stood up well to my rather large hind parts climbing in and out over the last year. I would recommend them.

I am still working on a group buy for lower leather replacements from the company that does the leather for Gulf States Toyota here in Houston. They have access to standard Toyota oak tan, but have been trying to source the dark brown leather for 40th Anniversary. PM me if you want to be in the loop when pricing comes in.

any grey option in that buy?

Two people I know have seat covers in their Superduties and both are placed over leather seats. One is running Wet Okoles and the other is running a set of custom cordura covers (like the tough duck material). I like them both but I drove to Chicago (almost 1000 miles one way for me) and back on the Wet Okoles in the summer and suffered from a major case of swamp ass. That neoprene holds heat very well and doesn't allow air to circulate very well. I am getting a set of cordura covers for the 80 for that reason.

I always have heard great things about great covers. I think that's the name. I know eric and a few others have them and are very pleased with them.

have heard good things too, think these are what I'm going to get........before it gets too hot out there, think there is a lead time though

Elmariachi, if grey is an option count me in. Driver side lower.

I have the Wet Okoles, and they are great except for the whole lack of air circulation. It can get pretty swampy in the summer if you aren't careful, but it isn't too bad. They are pretty expensive though and I am now questioning if it was a good idea or not to go for them over some cheaper ones like SOR has. Oh well, too late now.

I can pretty much vouch the same for the tuff ducks from SOR. They are great covers but in the heat can get sweaty since they are water proof. Takes a while for the back to fit and look nice. But it will eventually conform to your back. Two thumbs up for Tuff-Ducks.

I have GT covers in the front seats of my '93. The fabric is very nice, and they are comfortable, but the fit is just OK. Summer isn't here yet, but I suspect they will function like regular cloth seats.

I found these guys at SEMA 2004, http://www.rufftuff.com/ I was really impressed with their quality. Look to be the best build seat cover I have ever seen. Wet Oakley’s shop is here in town; my brother has had two sets (second one was a replacement for the first). They will not hold up in sunlight, they will just disintegrate (literally they just fall apart). He was not happy, also you are right they hold in heat in summer and if they get wet are a mushy sponge for your a$$.

I run the Tuff Ducks in the second row along with one of those custom formed 'pans' for the floor. With kids - it has to be one of the best buys I have ever made. It makes cleaning the truck a snap and very easy to deal with spilled juice, water, milk, cheerios, rasins and other nasties. They have done well over the last 3 - 4 years. Our kids are in car seats, so the comfort on the butt isn't too important at this point.

I'm not sure I would get them for the front seats. I'm tempted to get something like the GT covers for those.

Cheers, Hugh
