I am disassembling my seats so I can get the upholstery repaired. I have two questions.

First for the historians, is this color combination "original"? It's cream vinyl with dark green plush fabric on the sides.

Second question, can the seat sliders be disassembled? I have removed all the bolts and am left with just rivets. The track is very stiff so I'd like to disassemble and clean it before I put it all back together. I tried searching the forums but my search foo is not paying off. If they cannot be disassembled, are there any tips on getting them sliding again?

I'm no "historian", but I'll take a stab at your questions, with alot of assumptions, I think, maybe, and we'll have to wait for the "historians" to check in. Based on your seating brackets I assume, since you didn't mention it, your truck is between 09/72 and 01/79. I believe there was only a couple shades of gray vinyl during those years in the US market. I have never seen your color seats in any images. Old '60's vehicles had a coral colored vinyl covering. The seat brackets have only one part number for each seat side. That and the rivets indicates no replaceable parts. I would use your favorite cleaning method (stiff bristle parts brush or parts cleaning tank) and your favorite parts cleaner and have at it. Those tracks are gnarly looking and probably have 40 years of hardened grease and grit stuck in them.

Thanks, the chassis is 5/75. I was hoping there was a magic trick to getting the tracks apart. There are two roller bearings inside that I can see. Would love to get them apart for a proper cleaning, but I fear you are right about the rivets.

Today I pulled out our Spotbot and used the upholstery head to give the "green" a deep cleaning. Turns out, after removing the caked in mud the seats are blue. The panels behind the meatal backing are deep blue plush.
