What product should I use to condition the rubber seals for the sunroof on a 97 LC?

Can new rubber seals be purchased and replaced?

Can anyone recommend a sealant product that I can use to waterproof or seal the sunroof during the winter months and be easily removed in the spring/summer? I am tired dealing with water and electrical issues inside the truck?

Thanks all.

First thing I would ask is that are you sure it is leaking around the actual seal against the glass? Or could it be the drains are clogged causeing the water. Where are you getting the water inside the truck?

The sunroof itself is not designed to make a water tight seal, it has a felt seal aground its edge that is only replaceable by getting a new glass (4 digit price tag IIRC)

There is a pan under the sunroof that collects the water and it drains out 4 tubes at the corners, if you have water in the cab that is from the sunroof (there are many other sources) you need to look at the 4 tubes and the pan not the sun roof.

Also to note, your windshield gasket could not be properly sealed and water will come in that way too.

Are your sunroofs noisy when closed? Can they be resealed to reduce the noise or do you have to buy one of those plastic shield thingys to quiet it down?

With the sunroof shade closed also you can't hear mine. If the shade is open, yes I get wind noise.

I wouldn't bet on "those plastic shield thingys" to cut down on your wind noise. I have took them off both our Land Cruiser and Maxima as I felt they cause more wind noise.

I have played with it a bit and with the sun shade open I can cut the wind noise if I slightly vent (tip up) the sunroof, not enough to even really notice but it helps. This eliminates the wind noise but then to open it you have to close it down to then open it fully, which I do several times a day 10 months out of the year so that was a pain. If you never opened it and just wanted to slide the shade back, try playing with the vent angle while your driving and see if that helps.

mine had a bit of noise until I adjusted it after puting it back in, it was low at one corner, I added washers for shims on top of the stock shims. see the FSM and previous posts.

Definitely check your windshield. My DS was getting soaked during a hard rain and I thought thjat the DS door seals might be cracked or something. Turns out my windshield was dripping in the left bottom corner and was trickling down the pillar and soaking my carpet. I took it to a glass place and they took care of it.

If you close it from the "tilted" position, it does not seat as well as when you close it from the "slid open" position and makes more noise when closed, in my opinion. Thus, while I'd usually drive with the sunroof in the tilted position, I'd close then reopen horizontally before closing. But only at a stoplight so I don't muss my hair.
