Sealing holes for the Slider?

What would you recommend. You are going to use some cutting oil to drill with. So paint won't want to stick at the beginning. It's going to be COLD tomorrow during the install time. I am thinking of just leaving them for a week or two then cleaning them after it warms up and THEN dip paint on a Q-Tip to coat the hole and threads. I also bought Bee's Wax to coat the holes. No way that will work in the cold though. Maybe after the paint. PROBABLY over thinking it but it does seem to be a great spot for rust to start.
 
Are you talking about the leftover holes in the trucks rocker panel? The 80 series guys have a similar problem when pulling off the fender flares. When I pulled mine on my 80 I used a quality black vinyl that matched the truck and punched out circular patches with a craft tool to cover the holes. Worked ok for sealing up the holes. Others have used aluminum tape to do the same thing then paint Monsterliner over it, I would go this route on my GX. I just picked up a can of fluid film yesterday to fill the rockers with to help with rust control. Don't forget the bottoms of the doors are very vulnerable as well.
 
Several guys have cut off the top 1" of the running boards and put them back on, it seems to seal up the gaps and the plastic grey clips go right in where they were to begin with. I wish I had done that before throwing away the boards.
 
I think he's talking about the All-Pro sliders, which require drilling holes for installation. I think they mount to the pinch weld under the truck, so this might involve drilling into sheet metal. I could be wrong though. (I've been wrong once before.)
