Just killing some time and reading up on some stuff, and found some posts on other forums from guys who've used the Seafoam method of treatment (in through the PCV, let sit for a while, start it and run it) using Berryman B-12 instead of Seafoam and gotten very good results. Just wondering if any of you have ever tried B-12 instead of Seafoam for cleaning your combustion chambers.

Getting ready to do the Seafoam in my oil and through the PCV tomorrow but I've got a can of B-12 too, so now I'm curious....

I've rant both and I think they did the same. I am pretty sure the main ingredient is Methyl ethyl keytone I know I screwed up that spelling.

Methinks I'll stick with the Seafoam in my intake. It's served me well before.

Never added it to my oil though, and it doesn't say how long to leave it in. Only gives the treatment ratio. What do you guys usually do? Run for a few minutes, leave it in for a few days or couple hundred miles, the whole time the oil is in there?

It depends on how bad the sludge build up is. If it is bad and you run it for an extended period of time, you can clog up your oil pump screen since it cleans the crap off of everything.

I will generally add it to the oil. Drive to the store and buy the oil and filter, etc and then come home and drain it. 60 miles.

I've been running full synth for years now, so I don't think there's much in the way of sludge buildup left. Whatever sludge gets in via the PCV gets absorbed by the oil pretty well. I can tell by looking at the dipstick that there's some varnish buildup though, so I was thinking maybe just pouring some in in the morning, running around all day and then changing it in the afternoon would serve me just fine.

Here is a worst case scenario.
