Scratch built tailgate enclosure

Finally got around to making my own tailgate enclosure to give me a little more room while sleeping in the Cruiser...Best part it only cost me 5$. Found some old painting canvas that you would use on your floors while painting your house....I need to add a few more touches to cinch it up a lil more but over all I'm pleased with how it turned out!

Thanks guys! It's still a work in progress, going to add some more velcro or zippers to enclose the inner sides to the removable flap and possibly sew in some screen for windows....I will update with pics as I work it out. This is my prototype, the next one should be a fitter finish!

I don't see a cut down hockey stick anywhere. How do you get the rear hatch lid to stay open?

I built something similar about 10 years ago. I just bought a cheap tent, cut it in half, and used the doored portion around the open back, cinched with elastic cords around the body. If worked really well.

That's what I made it for! Turf N Surf is going to be the testing grounds.... Panamint is going to be the proving grounds!
