Glad you put the comment that you cut the bumper off! With all your pictures and seeing that hunk of plastic in your hand I was thinking that your tore it off!! o_O
Those are beautiful photos! I'd love to build a cabin like that somewhere in our local mountains here in CA.
Were you boondocking on someones farm in those first photos?

A group of friends rented out a part of the Oscar Blue’s REEB ranch near Brevard NC. It’s a yearly guy’s retreat they call “The Crescent Challenge.” Absolutely gorgeous property on the border of DuPont state forest. Mountain bike centric with trails and some of the best riding in the US from on the property to 20m away. Wish I’d have had more time. Also no shortage of wonderful food and beer in this town.
It’s under new ownership now, but with 15 of us the rate was fairly reasonable. Of course the guys that stayed in the cabin paid a bit more of the portion. The cabin was awesome! I slept in the GX.

If you ever want to add an LED light bar to your Gamiviti rack, I have a template I made for cutting out a clear sheet of Lexan/polycarbonate/plexiglass for a clear fairing.
The template needs to be printed out at 1 to 1 scale (1:1, 100% or Full depending upon how your printer reads) on 11" x 17" paper and then just splice them together, trim and you have your template! I purchased the clear material from our local Lowes hardware store.
Go to my build link and it explains how to do it:
Starting on post #70.

Love that idea and your rig! You’re about 1,000 mods ahead of me 😂

Good times with some great guys at Wilson Creek, 45minutes from any beer in NC! Lots of rough steep single track for the bikes. GX got me there and back in style.

Had always wanted to try Old House Gap road in a vehicle, but as of now it seems to be permanently closed. I’m glad because after mountain biking up it to get to Yancey Ridge trail I came to the realization there was no way the GX would have made it through some of the ruts and wash outs.

Getting my little gal ready for cool weather camping. Bought her the 25 degree REI bag and we spent the night comfortably in the tent in the backyard last night. The temps were in the low 40’s and high 30’s. So proud of her for using her sleeping bag and staying warm/sleeping all night!

So when she climbs out in the morning, will she sprout butterfly wings??

Chatting with Chad at BashFab about swinging by this weekend to take measurements for my sliders and get the ball rolling. Does anyone know if the length is significantly different than T4R sliders? Could save a lot of time if so. I’ll probably just tell him to weld them on. I loved the strength with my Tundra!

I've got bolt-ons from Metal Tech. Rumor has it that when you weld it weakens the frame and is prone to rusting on the inside of the frame as well.

Do the metal tech use ubolts to mount to the frame like the WKOR?
I’ll have to keep eyes peeled for ya!

Hard mounted an Apache box from Harbor Freight to the Gamiviti yesterday. Trialing all the recovery gear in there to make room for other things inside the cabin.

Starting to plan and prep for a Cape lookout OBX trip this May. Been watching all the YouTube videos. Looks like you just need to be prepared for anything especially windy conditions and be ready for sand all the sand.

Also it’s pretty remote, but there are showers, fresh water, and petrol available at the small group of cabins near the ferry let off. Have to get a ferry slot and the driving pass in advance. ⛴

Let me know if you have stories good or bad about visiting the Cape Lookout National Seashore and beach camping in general.

I know rule number one for beach driving is airing down. But I think it should be fun and perfectly reasonable with the GX.

We went Easter weekend last year it was cold in the shade but perfect in the sun. It was super windy! make sure to get a awning wall extension or flip your rig around to block it. Fill up before you go across beach driving sucks up a lot of gas and the gas on the island is super expensive. Bring more food and beer you think you need. North part less secluded but the tide can come in on you high tide line was 12 feet from our rig!

Nice looking rig and impressed with all those improvements you've made. Just like you, I still have a 18 Tundra but looking to move over to a 460. Just looking for the right one.

I was going to say that you're lucky you still have a relationship with the ex FIL. Mine turned into an azz and that's sad because before that we were always close. Oh well, I gained a better one the second time around. He's getting ready to leave this ole earth after 91 years. Gonna miss him when he's gone!

Productive day! Got a hitch haul, think it’s gonna do great for the coolers. Works well with the swing away hitch I have.
Just made aware of another beach trip in September.
Couldn’t resist the badland e-tool, it was under $8! Even came with a sheath. I’ve been shopping for a truck shovel.
I’ve been waiting to use this rod. Got it on clearance a few years back and I think it’s gonna be perfect 👌🏻

Hey OP, how do you like that hitch haul? Would love to get one for our summer camping trips and get the coolers out of the back. Love the build! Nebula Gray GXs unite. Here's mine!
