Just washed up. Definitely happy with the CBI overland sliders thus far. No issues for little gal using the rear step and they also look great. I’ll eventually post a pic of getting them dirty.

Looking good!

Well just to document the good with the bad my alternator bearing has gone bad and truck sounds like a turbo diesel both at startup/idle and on acceleration. Battery light comes on under moderate/heavy acceleration. Having local shop do repair. Have to replace whole alternator and going ahead with new serpentine belt. Not cheap at all.

If you have any accessories on your rig, lights, winch, fridge, upgrade your alternator to at least a 240 amp.

I don’t, and don’t plan to. Just gonna put the oem back in.
Pretty much a mom wagon these days.

Is a tensioner part of that fix? I've had them go bad on other Toyotas with similar symptoms. If over 120k, I'd replace that with the belt and alternator.

No they just replaced the serpentine belt and alternator. Got it back today. All good now. Only 82k
Did you go to a Lexus dealer, or to an independent shop? What did the price end up being?

It was about $1700 after the rental and tax. Independent “dealer alternative” shop who have sprung up four places in town over the last few years called First Class Halt (Honda Acura Lexus Toyota). They bought my previous independent mechanic shop who was across town so I went with them but closer to my house. I knew they wouldn’t be the cheapest, but also I don’t have a trusted mechanic so I went off reviews. Their customer service was top notch and they turned me around very quickly, less than 48 hours from drop off to completion. I didn’t get a quote from dealer but typically this shop falls right below dealer pricing on other maintenance items I’ve gotten quotes on. Know it’s high but also feel confident it’s right. Hopefully no more major repairs for a while. The alternator was like 600 and then the belt was 80 and the rest was diagnostic and labor fees, besides the $45 rental so I could function. Glad it’s over. Truck is running smooth and quiet.

Toyo AT3 with Method 313 0 offset. Perfect stance in my mind.

Your tire and spring setup are inspiring. Now that you have had this setup for a few years, would you do anything differently?

I've never lifted any vehicle before, but I am considering lifting my 2010 GX460 and I really like your look. What are some "gotchas" that I need to know about with your setup? I saw you were having alignment issues, were the tweaks you posted enough to solve those issues?

I’m not really sure I would do something different. It rides firm when unloaded but great on vacations, like I just got back from the beach and loaded pretty full with roof box, kids, dog, hitch haul and the medium load springs were great. It’s pretty firm on the daily commute but I’m definitely used to it at this point and don’t mind it. Sometimes I feel the bumps a little much and wish for softer springs but I’ve finally accepted it and am happy. Most people would probably like softer springs, of course the c rated tires add to the firm/harsh feel. Also the rear rides a bit high unloaded but it’s not crazy.
Ultimately I added the Dobinsons UCA and it drives perfect now. I recommend the UCA from the get go.
Love the Dobinsons, no issues. Very versatile. My setup is a bit firm but they have softer options. Just make sure you know what you’ll carry day to day. Ultimately I built a lighter build than I initially thought I was going to, but still feel the medium weight springs were a good overall choice for my preferences and extra nice when loaded up.

Awesome, thank you for the feedback!

New tire day tomorrow! I have 45k on the Toyo Open Country ATIII and they actually still have plenty of tread depth. I’ve been wanting to try something a little lighter and milder. Main symptoms making me want to get some fresh rubber include:
1. increasing noise- nothing wild just an increased hum I noticed on the interstate Christmas trip to my parents house.
2. Performance- while still passable they are starting to lose a little grip. Had to put her in low range to get out a muddy rut on my parents property. Nothing crazy, but that spot has never given me a bit of trouble previously. This also makes me think if we were to get a winter event they’d not do great. I also have been questioning their wet weather performance slightly the last few months.

The Toyo’s have been great. All said my use is a little milder than intended use and I sacrificed some weight and ride quality that I missed. They have lasted well and could definitely keep going another 10k miles (think they’re still around 8-9/32” tread depth). I’m gonna cut my losses and sell on FB. It lets me get into another tire choice and get the lost performance back.
Getting the new meats tomorrow at 4.

I ordered the new Nitto Terra Grappler G3 in the same 285/70r17 size but standard load. I’m hoping for a little more road biased ride and looking forward to the softer sidewall in daily driving. I’m also losing about 7lbs per tire.
I’ve been happy with the Toyo brand and thinking Nitto tires are from the same parent company. This is the most up to date AT they have between Nitto and Toyo right now and it fits my goal of wanting something slightly more road biased for this next set.
