I'm a reasonably new owner (6 mo) of a 2020; the heavy feel and the trolleying in pavement depressions definitely took some getting used to. It feels better with some drive time, and once I got new tires it really kind of became a non-issue, and I don't even notice it now. A lot of the newer used GXson lots are just about at the end of their OEM tire life, mine was at 29,000 miles and still on OEMs when I got it. Not sure if yours has newer tires or still OEMs at 54,000 miles?
I'm not sure about the tires but I can look at the car fax as it has a good history at the dealership.

And for the same platform in a 5th Gen 4R as the GX (san V8, leather, etc...) you'll probably pay even more! And it will probably have been off roaded.
Nice thing about the GX's, as you mentioned, most folks buy them as upscale mall cruisers, so it's easy find them in pristine condition. Just watch out for sticky seats, crumbs between the cushions and toy trinkets.
Can confirm. We have a 2015 GX and a 2016 4runner Limited.

Also 4runner front passenger seats are crap.
