Fun trail, and some great scenery, Wish I was in the area that day.

I may see you, but won't be in the Cruiser. A large group of us is doing a Flagstaff to Sedona MTB ride that day. We'll either descend Schnebly Hill Rd, or Munds Wagon Trail (criss crosses SH Rd). Have fun!

I'm over in Yuma and planning on driving up to run schnebly hill road next sunday. Just posting this up to see if anyone else might be interested in going along.
Which 40 are ya bringing?

I'll have to camp up there due to the long drive - did you want to camp or is this just a day trip for you?

I have 100 i got for out here. Would love to camp but I wouldn't be leaving yuma till 530ish

Looks like the weather Sunday is going to be great, my wife and I are thinking of joining you for this trail. Are you going from Schnebly Hill Road (intersection at I-17) taking the route into Sedona?

I might be able to join, but my schedule is highly unpredictable these days. Which direction are you going to run it and what time do you think you'll start?

Clearly the better way to go. Heading out of Sedona the views in the rear view mirror. Would be interesting to drive down Casner Mountain trail met those who didn't camp the night before at the bottom and head back up. Not sure if the permit allows this?

this sounds good. I've never really been in the area so I'm open to suggestions

I'm going to drive over from Yuma Saturday night and leave Yuma around 5:30 ish. I'm going to try to camp somewhere unless i can transfer my hotel for one night which may be more trouble than its worth. As far as time it really doesn't matter. What do you guys think?

I would think it's best to start at the intersection of I-17 and Schnebly Hill Road (backwards from the route listed in Trails Offroad) and get some scenic views of Sedona as we approach the town. I haven't done this route, but it is an easy drive should take about 1 ½ hours per Trails Offroad. I'm flexible with a start time, maybe meet at I-17 / Schnebly Hill Road at 10 AM. As the trail ends in Sedona, from there my wife & I will probably head back to Camp Verde stopping for lunch along the way. Then drive the General Crook Trail (which runs southwest roughly following I-17 from Camp Verde to near the intersection of I-17 & Rt 169 since that on our way home. The General Crook Trail (did it a few years back) is also an easy route, taking about 1 ½ hours. If anyone wants to join us after lunch for the General Crook Trail, you're welcome to join in.

Of course, open to everyone's suggestions!

I plan on heading up Friday night, camping somewhere, maybe run a trail on Saturday, camping somewhere Saturday night, meeting for the Hill run somewhere Sunday morning at some time, camping somewhere Sunday night, and heading home Monday morning.

Lot of "somewhere" and "some time" in my plans!

The road is very rocky these days. I would strongly recommend airing down. 1.5 hrs without stops due to trail conditions.

I probably couldn't head out before 11 AM Sunday, so I might try to head up the opposite direction and run into y'all on your way down.

Id prefer earlier than later. Ill have a 4.5 hr drive back to Yuma. Meeting at I-17 and schnebly hill road sounds good. I'm going to rough it somewhere Saturday night and will be hunting breakfast and heading up. How's meeting at 8 or 9am sound?
