I never even thought someone would even be remotely interested in this. So this is the first time I have really put some thought into doing a custom body for someone else.
It's ~$50 just to get the clear body (that I have to cut out, paint, rust, etc.) Pro-Line 3508-00 1965 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 Clear Body
Paints unfortunately costed me almost as much as the body did. (Rusting kit, white, yellow, green, clear coat, and primer.) For the "trx40" I did a double paint job on it, so it looks like it was originally yellow, then someone rattle-canned over it with that military green. It's a triple paint job if you count the rust I added ;). I added rock lights, headlights, tail-lights, sticker emblems, wipers, and other little details to try and make it look scale. Notice the mirrors, they suck.
Final price would have to be determined based on what you really want. Do you want sticker emblems or actual emblems? Do you want a full light kit on it, or just stickers that look like lights? Would you like a rusted weathered version, or a shiny new version? Do you want just a body, or would you like me to add on accessories? Unfortunately I don't know how to make an interior so that would not be included. But I do need to know the answers to those previous questions to get an estimate! Also I forgot to paint the grille on mine, if you want I can paint yours!
Oh! So this is an off-the-shelf Pro-Line lexan body and not something that you made from styrene? Nevermind. I was not aware that the Pro-Line 40 body would fit the TRX4 chassis. I have experience cutting and painting these bodies myself. Maybe I will give it a shot. Thanks for the inspiration. Nice job!

you could try to make a plug and mold out of a new body, and heat and vacuum a styrene copy. that would allow different methods of weathering and painting.

That would be awesome! It would also be a lot of work. My 1:1 junk takes enough of my time as it is.

I can’t wait to get it!

You did a great job, thank you!

Asking for education here. I'm starting the process of rebuilding a fan clutch and went to the local RC shop to source fluid (also ordered some on amazon). I thought I bought 2 bottles of 10,000cst silicone, but somehow one of them was labeled 22.5w 238cst by the time I got home. I'll say I blame the salesman who was higher than a kite but I admit it's my fault for not checking the bag before I left.

So...question: Why is this so confusing? At first I expected 22.5w to mean 22,500cst but that can't be the case because it's way thinner than the 10,000cst. That also means that many Amazon sellers are using false descriptions of the "w" or "wt" oils because I've seen them advertised with a 5-digit cst number in the description that seems to fall in line with 10k, 22k, 22.5k, 25k, etc. Argggh!

I'm not wasting $4 in gas to go exchange the 22.5w oil so if anybody local wants it you can have it next time we see each other.

Lastly, I successfully fought all urges to roam the store looking at RC junk. Possible crisis averted.

There are some cool rigs here! My Son asked Santa for an RC car this year (7 years old) so I thought this would be a great time to introduce him to the car bug. I don't need to spend 500$ on a rig but can anyone recommend something around 250$ for a total package? I'd prefer something either gas or with rechargeable batteries and something we can replace parts on as he breaks them. I don't want something that is 100$ but gonna break on week 1. Thanks for your inputs!

Nathan’s latest build: Boom Racing BRX01. He just did the bull bar, sliders and tray bed.
