need a little help, im doing my sbc swap on my 70 fj 40, i have an AA bellhousing so i can keep the toyota 4 speed, it says in the instruction manuel that i have to use the stock toyota bellhousing inspection cover, the flywheel inspection cover, and the stock toyota dowle pins........problem is i sold the f engine with the bellhousing..so i was kind of wondering if anyone had any of these things lying around, or if i maybe i can make my own inspection covers, not sure why i need the dowle pins if the bolt holes line up?? thanks for any help..

im in san diego nocents, i appreciate the offer though.

Dowel pins are ESSENTIAL if you do not want to have the tranny input shaft misaligned with the pilot bearing.........don't ask me how I know..:( Oh, and a standard bronze pilot bushing for a SBC fits the nose of the 4-spd tranny beautifully! I've tried to find a replacement clutch other than the AA Centerforce unit, and the best I can come up with is the pressure plate made by LUK a 04-072. This is an 11" pp and it is an exact replacement for the Centerforce PP (minus the weights and centering ring) I do not believe that the friction disk supplied with this PP will work. It looks too thick. But, you can buy the friction disk separate from Mannyfree or SOR or Centerforce and still come out $$ ahead. Don't forget that you need the special TO bearing as well. I've not found another source for one of those yet...(or the friction disk for that matter) IF anybody else does, post up!

Cheers!
