Saw this near the University of Central Oklahoma today. Not sure how it got here if it really is the 4.5 EFI as it isn't importable under the 25 year rule. The V8 Toyota badge on the tailgate looks like it's in the wrong location. Something seems fishy since it would be an inline 6 if it was a 4500 EFI.

Left hand drive too. I might go back later today and see if it was a manual.

Right color markings as well for the 4500. That has to be the worst stink bug stance on any LC :)

Looks like a plain jane US 100 to me with some sagging TBars

Well it's not a manual, but look at that center console!

V8 badge looks added...maybe to help disguise it and get it into the country?

The tires even looked different. Taller and skinnier looking than the ones spec'd in the U.S. Looked like the ones you see on them as they bash in the dunes.

Well the issue is it can't be a V8 as well as a 4.5L...

So which one is it?

My bet: regular UZJ100 with a bunch of GCC stuff imported in and installed.

:meh:

V8 badge is actually in the right spot. It's the Toyota badge that is too far to the left. Its normally right up against the Land Cruiser badge. If it is a 4500 it may have been driven up from South America somewhere and registered grey market.

That's kind of what I thought at first, but why go through all the hassle? It seemed to be pretty neglected and "well used". The personal items on the inside seemed to match the truck and where it might be from.

The gold "Land Cruiser" words on the hatch also seem to be a little uneven. I'm intrigued to say the least.

It's just enough stuff that it could go either way with it being a done up V8 hundy or a snuck in 4.5 I6 with badging to throw people off.

Would these have any buttons on the dash that might indentify it as an import?
ex. part time 4wd buttons, FRONT and rear lockers, rear air con, lack of a heater?

Center console looks to double as a pet barrier. Lol

Maybe more of a pet cage!

Look under the truck, should be obvious if v8 or straight six by looking if there is two manifolds with piping going into the exhaust system, one from each side for the v8 or just one side for the 6.

Went back for a third time today to show my dad. It had a rear diff lock and Maxxis DesertMaxx tires, but a V8 underneath which means the decals are added, but I'm thinking the owner wanted them and had them put on somewhere.

The rust underneath was hands down the worst I have ever seen and things looked like they were about to start falling off.

Is it possible to import 100 series LC's if they have the same V8s and safety features as the ones in the U.S.? That's the only way it makes sense to me.

Or it was driven from Oklahoma to South America (not much of a stretch - I've done it) and the guy liked the decals so he had them added. If it was overlanded it may have all kinds of customizations.

It sure looks like a straight gulf-spec vehicle though. 4500 V8 - yep, a Gulf-spec diesel. No roof rack, chrome mirror and door handles, etc. Those tires are straight from the Gulf. Desert palm air freshener. Maybe Oklahoma is as sloppy as Florida when it comes to checking the legality of a vehicle.

Ths car for students from uAE dubai he important that tair & decals&consoal from gulf

No the middle east as always very hot we don't need to seat heaters

The car have amarica spec v8 engine

Why do you believe it has a US-spec V8? The 4.5L V8 Diesel was certainly available for this model, with these decals, and in the Middle East. Maybe it came from Iran or Afghanistan. I seriously doubt those tires are available anywhere else than the Middle East.
