Welcome to Jeff Smiddy!

Jeff was introduced to camping as a kid and carried on the tradition with his wife, Sara, and their children. In 2019, the Smiddys sold everything they owned, bought an RV, and started full-time RVing in January 2020.

Jeff worked at Ouray KOA for the 2022 season and then traveled to Sugarloaf Key/Key West KOA Resort before coming back to Ouray KOA as the assistant general manager. He's excited to be moving into the General Manager position after starting his KOA journey as a Work Kamper in maintenance/grounds and the Maintenance Supervisor.

Jeff and his family are excited to take on the adventure in Ouray. When he's not working as the general manager, you'll find him enjoying a game of pickleball or exploring the national forests in the area.

Book your next adventure to Ouray KOA!
Congratulations!

That guy looks familiar.

Okay, I have some news that I'm almost hating to share because it could change at any moment.

I was told by a local side-by-side rental owner that the Telluride side of blackbear has started getting some love.

He told me that they are planning on having Black Bear pass open this year.

Don't hold your breath, I guess I'll call myself a pessimist and believe it when I see it.

If it doesn't open, I'm now holding you personally responsible. Act accordingly. 😆

How am I just now finding out about the trails-events and expeditions section of the forum. All of the sudden a whole new world is open up to me. It is like I can finally see. Looking forward to experiencing SAS vicariously through each of you.

It would be a great place to do some rapid fire podcasting Dan. “Watch” this thread for the announcement on next year’s event.

Here is a little bit of foreshadowing but season one of the Classic Land Cruisers is coming to an end with a 3 part series coming soon ;)

Couple of days and you are set.
Haha…. My virgin attempt at a HG replacement (as well as hoping to get rid of all the oil drips… I think every single gasket was leaking to some degree…)

Spent a couple hours working on mine this weekend. The 80 gearbox on the 60 changed the angle of my steering damper. Well all of sudden I couldn't turn left, then I could but the steering wheel wasn't straight anymore. The bolts holding the damper bracket in place snapped and the shock got wedged. Well I gotta say I'm impressed with Japanese steel again cause that tie rod never snapped.

And yes Randy I also got the tailgate on the 80.
