That would be sick.
We are thinking the friday at the end or SAS8 after wheeling all week for the balloon ride. We might do a day trip to Telluride as well, either by the pass and spend the afternoon over there and drive back on paved roads or take paved roads for the day. It would be great to take the pass. We did one day last year but with a late start did not get to spend anytime there. I would be up for a 8 am departure and head over the mountain one day. hint hint....

Black Bear is a pretty quick trail. A early start with a small group gives you a good bit of time in Telluride and time to take Imogene back to Ouray.

@BombCity the only way to wear a cowboy hat in an 80 is by removing the headrest to keep ya from banging the brim !
No more excuses. Everyone in an 80 needs one..

If BB is open this year… rumors are sounding like it’ll be closed.
But I am searching often for updated info and will keep posted what new info I find.

Few years back we did BB down and imogene back in a day . We were back in camp 4 ish . I think we had 6 who like to travel fast in the group.. Rumor has IT BB won't ever reopen. I do think it still can be done minus the switchbacks. So sad its an easy trail if you aren't stupid

I think the terminology the sheriff used was "ass hat"

Fun fact, we have the most 40's ever registered for SAS this year. Currently we have 25 and is leading the attending Cruisers currently.
Sounds like a set of steelies and 33x10.50’s for the raffle could be a hit…I’ve secured 37x12.50-17 Boulder MT’s for the 80’s crowd.

Most excellent my friend. Can't go wrong with tires at the raffle. Much appreciated.

Of all the trails in the area that we frequent for SAS, Black Bear is the one as organizers that makes us a bit uneasy. We do think all trails are easy but BB has little margin for error on the switchbacks. I've done it many times through the years solo, tailgunner and leader. Its not difficult at all but the
"what iff's" with folks that have marginal trail experience always makes me uneasy. Been there done that multiple times and I'm good with whatever the Powers that Be decide on the future of Black Bear Pass.

I'll take the 37s for my 60. Those 80 guys don't got enough ass to push in a clutch pedal much less move a 37 around.

Your group will be the first I let know if I hear anything. It's not looking good so far but fingers are crossed.

Hello Everyone,

Since it's just after Valentine day I thought I'd see which one of you had the biggest heart.

You guys have a member in great need of a cabin as she will be by herself, is flying in, and is on the waiting list. I am sure most of you know who I am talking about.

Now, to sweeten my previous offer. Is there anyone willing to move out of a Deluxe Cabin and into an RV or tent site.

I will give you your first two nights free and the rest of your stay will be 50% off.

Shoot me a message here and I will get it done.

Jeff
