I am selling my 1991 Right Hand Drive, Turbo Diesel Toyota Land cruiser HDJ81 which was imported from Japan and is fully titled to legally drive in California. I bought it 8 years ago from a Japanese vehicle import company. I am selling it because I currently have 3 Toyota Landcruisers, a RV, and too little free time to enjoy them all. I built this truck up with the goal of keeping it forever and with the experience of owning multiple 80 series cruisers before this so I spared no expense and went the distance on all the upgrades. I have taken this vehicle on a few off road trips (Mojave road, Moab, Death Valley) but other than that it has sadly been on the pavement 99% of the time I have owned it and I always parked out of the sun. This Cruiser is in incredible shape for its age and turns heads everywhere I take it. I am sad I never got to use it as intended I am hoping that its future owner can take it out on all the trips I had hoped to someday go on.

TO START - Many people like these diesel land cruisers however the following upgrades/features should be done with any imported Diesel Japanese Land Cruiser 80 series that one wants to off road, tow, modify, or legally drive in California. These mods alone cost me and arm and a leg.

- legally titled in California (very difficult to have done now)
- brakes upgraded to US SPEC Land Cruiser brakes (JDM hdj81 cruisers come with much smaller brakes)
- Injection Pump rebuilt and new injectors added (this is the major service all diesels need done eventually)
- Bottom end Bearings were replaced (this is the second major service these cruisers need)
- Transmission upgraded and transmission cooler added (needed to handle extra weight/torque/off-roading/towing)
- add auxiliary EGT, Boost, Oil pressure, and transmission temp sender as the stock senders are not sufficient.
- the cruise control in these is notorious I replaced it with a GPS unit
- the ACSD device should be removed and plated off which I did

Lastly, despite popular opinion....stock 80 series diesel Cruisers do not come stock with notable power difference than a gas 80 series Cruiser...with the following modifications this diesel engine has so so so much more power than a Gas cruiser.

POWER MODS ($10,647 in parts)
- Upgraded Turbo with G Turbo grunter extreme $1415 in parts
- manual boost controller
- Dea performance exhaust $703 in parts
- Custom snorkel from moonlight fabrication $1140 in parts
- Custom intercooler PDI intercooler $974 in parts
- Custom air box PDI intercooler $636 in parts
- rebuilt injection pump and new injectors $5500 total

The standard transmission requires upgrades to handle the extra power which I have had done.

TRANSMISSION ($4365)
- rebuilt transmission with heavy duty clutch plate $3043 parts and labor
- aluminum torque convertor from Wholesale Automatics Australia $1313 in parts
- PDI transmission cooler added (cost included in PDI intercooler price above)

The original truck lacked the senders/display that would be helpful for monitoring the trucks vitals so I added a host of them via a MADMAN EMS 1

SENSORS/GUAGES ADDED

-MADMAN EMS 1 engine monitoring system $500 in parts (this is almost like adding an OBDII computer)
-Boost with alarm
-Transmission temp with alarm
-EGT with alarm
-Low coolant with alarm

If you have any questions please let me know. I bought the vehicle for $20k, I am well over an estimated $48997 in upgraded parts including some labor as listed above. This does not include cost of labor for the modifications to the turbo/intake exhaust system, the suspension, grille/headlights, gas tank, bushings, the complex electric engine monitoring system, as well as the thousands I have in very hard to find spare parts and preventative maintenance. When I built this truck I never thought I would sell so didn't really keep track of these costs until now hence the general numbers given in some cases. Countless hours were also spent researching these upgrades and sourcing these parts and obtaining them from all over the world which was honestly a huge pain in the a$$. I invested well over $80,000 in this in parts and paid labor. I am asking $39,000 or best offer for the truck and spare parts.

Good evening, no second row seats? Noticed seat belts are removed as well.
I had planned on keeping it my whole life so I removed the rear seats since I don’t have kids or take friends camping. I had a 10 gallon tank in the footwell so the rear seats were not usable anyways. It would require buying a used set online then having the belt on one side re attached.
