Hello,

For sale is my clean, well maintained, low mileage Lexus GX460 (Landcruiser Prado). It has the preferable, pre-facelift body style that has an improved approach angle compared to the Lexus GX460 models from 2014 onwards. I take pride in finding and owning clean vehicles and this GX460 is no exception. I would not hesitate to transform this SUV into an overlanding rig and drive it around the world. The GX460 has a strong reputation for being a reliable vehicle and I believe mine is one of the cleaner ones on the market. I have nothing to hide with this rig; simply that my needs have changed and I will be getting into a full sized truck soon. I have attached pictures of the vehicle as well as the undercarriage. This is a true California car and shows like one. The undercarriage is clean and dry. You wouldn't know it by the condition and the driving experience, but this vehicle is over 10 years old and has over 100,000 miles. As such, it has the typical wear associated with that age and mileage (minor chips, dings, scratches, etc.). I have done my best to document the condition of the SUV with the photos attached here. If you would like any additional pictures, please let me know.

Note this is a Premium trim and not the Base trim. The quickest way to determine Base vs Premium is that the Premium trim has a chrome window belt that makes its way up the window towards the roof line on the rearmost window. On the Base trim, the chrome window belt is flat and does not curve up towards the roof line. The additions of the Premium trim include many of the same features found on the 2014-2023 Luxury trim. I have linked the brochure here for additional information. Some examples of features shared between the pre-facelift Premium trim and the post-facelift Luxury trim include: adaptive variable suspension, auto-leveling rear air suspension, semi-aniline leather interior, and more.

    • Independent Mechanic -- 113k miles: Fluids serviced (engine, transmission, front differential, and rear differential)
    • Lexus Dealership -- 109k miles: Radiator replaced
    • Lexus Dealership -- 103k miles: New Goodyear tires
    • Lexus Dealership -- 92k miles: New front and rear brake pads and resurfaced front and rear rotors
    • Lexus Dealership -- 91k miles: Valve cover gasket replaced
    • Lexus Dealership -- 88k miles: Timing chain cover, crankshaft seal, water pump gaskets, oil filter housing gaskets, oil pump gaskets, and coolant inlet gaskets replaced
  • Thie is essentially a 3 owner vehicle (reported on Carfax as a 4 owner vehicle). It was titled as a corporate vehicle for 342 miles. Locally leased to the first long term owner, then purchased by the second long term owner as a Lexus certified pre-owned used vehicle. I purchased it from the second long term owner and have owned the vehicle for about 1 year and have only added ~6,000 miles in my ownership. All of this information is available on the complete Carfax.
Known Issues
  • The rear swing gate lock actuator is frozen. I took it in to be evaluated and I was told it needs a new lock actuator. It isn't an expensive fix, but the dealership did not have the parts in stock so I did not get it serviced right away. If I have time, I will get it replaced and the vehicle purchase price will increase. In the meantime, the rear swing gate window continues to open and I use that to grab items from the trunk.
  • One (or more) of the TPMS sensors on the original Lexus wheels needs to be replaced due to intermittent signal issues. I have confirmed that the tires keep air just fine but the TPMS sensors are on their way out. I do not plan to have this fixed as I was going to install new TPMS sensors on the Nomad wheels and then reprogram them to remove the dashboard light. This issue is reflected in my current asking price.
  • The most notable imperfections that I could find are seen around the passenger side front lower foglight (abrasion/scratch) and a door ding with a small indent on the driver side rear passenger door. These can be seen in the pictures attached. These imperfections, along with wear and tear, is reflected in my current asking price.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via private messaging on this forum. No stories, no secrets. Just a clean Lexus GX460 ready for new adventures!

Wow, she's a beaut, Clark. What a nice "blank canvas" for an overland build. Amazing shape for being a teenager.

Of course I’m biased, but I agree. It took me a while to find an excellent example of a pre-facelift GX460. If I didn’t need a full sized truck, I would keep it. Hopefully this GX gets the overland build it deserves.

Hi Clark- Nice GX. What are the mileage intervals for the oil changes on the Carfax.

Please note:
  • Owner 3 purchased the vehicle as a Lexus certified pre-owned vehicle, so Lexus likely verified on-time service
  • From 92k to 112k, I have multiple hard copy paper receipts from services completed at Lexus San Diego; I'm unsure why these services were not automatically uploaded to Carfax. Any Lexus dealership will also be able to verify the service history during this time (and for all services done at the Lexus dealership)
