Is drivable now but lacks a working horn and hazard lights. Titled as a 1964 as was the custom back then. Actual mileage unknown. Clear title.

Parts replaced or rebuilt since project started in 2020, list of some of the work done.

  • F155 motor (1970 approx) rebuilt, done by friend who is a retired Porsche 911 tech, machine work by Motor Works Inc. in National City CA, now has about 500 miles on it
  • 3 speed trans and transfer case – bearing kits installed
  • New starter, distributor, coil, Weber carb, fuel pump, clutch kit, thermostat housing, radiator, power steering pump, water pump, temp sender, oil sender, coolant hoses, thermostat, motor mounts
  • Rebuilt alternator, new external regulator
  • Many brackets and parts under hood cleaned up by sand blasting, then painted using high temp paint and high temp clear coats
  • Installed used FJ60 power steering box with kit from Iron Pig Offroad
  • New parking brake cable, throttle cable, various brake lines, master clutch and brake cylinders, slave cylinders for clutch and rear brakes.
  • Power brakes from remote MG style booster to front (disc brakes previously installed – looks to be the JT Outfitters GM conversion, original drums in rear).
  • New head lights, front turn signals and running lights, battery and tray
  • 5 New OEM rims and hub caps, painted Dune Beige same as fire wall with ppg paint, front wheel spacers per previous owner, new Toyo mud terrains
  • New steering ball joints, new front leaf springs (Old Man Emu), rear view mirror, front shocks

I found a couple other examples.
 
IIRC the front of the bed on removable tops was rounded very similar to the rear radius
versus
the fixed top which has a very sharp 90 degree corner
 
This just seems so un-Toyota to me. Why in the world would they decrease the cab of the fixed top and then need to make up for it by a longer bed so that the fixed top and removable top had the same length (which is very Toyota)????
