I had a 40 series rear axle under the zuk for a couple of years before i switched out to all mini truck. It felt like the zuk was towing a small trailer. both mini truck axles were just a little heavier than the front 40 axle.

I had a front 40 sitting in my garage waiting to go in but it was just too low of clearance for the tires i was running at the time. I end up giving it to Bodean .

Those are pretty sweet though. FYI - PJ from M&M fab makes rear steer housing out of yota front axles for around $300.

What does he do for $300? Put knuckle balls on a IFS rear axle housing?

Rotates knuckle balls and flips diff, cuts & relocates diff cover in front housing i believe.

Does he make them passenger side offset? That's the only reason a flip would be needed, but you'd still run the diff in normal manner (low-pinion).

Cut and rotate of knuckles definitely needed. Pinion already pretty much points parallel to ground in stock configuration. Imagine all the love your driveshaft will make to the rocks without a rotate

He does what ever it takes to make it work right :p

i'd stay away from rear steer. sure, it's awesome in tight spots or getting to just the right line for a difficult obstacle. but the extra cost and loss of strength just are'nt worth it. and you really don't need it with the proper wheel base and as long as you can pick a good line.

I agree Georg. Sure it's cool and all but I would only consider it if I was planning activity that included traffic cones ;)

I apolgize for my tires makin you experiment on your bachelor party night. That ball touching not gay thing... Just blame it in the stickies...

Got some triagulation done on the roll cage B hoop.
Borrowed the Y design from bossladie's halfass. I was going to do a full X but that would have killed all the leg room for the kiddies.
So i went with a rockmidget stripper pole instead.
Bottom of Y bolts to plates that tie into the crossbar below the tub. The crossbar connects the B hoop frame tie ins, giving the frame and frame tie ins more support. Hot as Satan's sack out there.
I think i lost ten pounds
