Was out wheelin a few weeks ago and crushed my tailpipe up against my steel rear bumper. I want to find a safe path for the exhaust that doesn't reduce rear clearance. I saw this on Dissent's instagram:

Is that safe to let the exhaust vent under the truck like that? Would it be safe idling for an hour without moving? Any other clever ways to route it?

I have a steel Dissent rear bumper and have relocated the spare tire to a swingout. I don't really care about hacking off the muffler or replacing it if that solves the problem. I don't want the truck to be loud or anything, though.

Down spout exhaust tip? Side exit tailpipe tip? Why take a chance on exhaust fumes blowing uo into the interior of the truck, especially when at idle...

I dont have a 100, but mine is similar to dissents, but points down. Haven't noticed any issues, but haven't sat idling forever either... removing resonator did literally nothing Soundwise for me.

Some weld on a 90 degree extension, taking exhaust out the side, rear of the tire.

We want exhaust fumes, exiting from under vehicle. Due to concerns, of fumes and also heat. Heat from exhaust can melt the wires and wire housing block back that area.

Owners manual: Warns do not prolong idle, which may damage CAT. Define as 20 minutes.
Do not have, have rear wing windows open, with engine running.

We also want to make sure rear doors and window seals, working as they should. No rust or drilled holes, in underbody. Pay special attention to rear 1/4 tips .

This is more or less how mine has been for years with zero issues.

My exhaust rusted off right around that same spot about a year ago and I haven't had any issues. I have a flowmaster muffler and the loss of the tail pipe didn't do anything sound wise. I'll have to get this fixed before my next MD emissions test tho.

I had a muffler shop remove the resonator then angle the exhaust to exit just behind the tire. I have not had any issues with fumes or smashing it in the last 4-5 years. If you zoom in to this pic you can see the exhaust tip.

This is pretty much how mine sits as well, and has for years.

This shouldn't effect your test if you do the drive up to the self kiosk. Have you ever tried one of them? They only connect to obd when I go

My 2000 was like this, I just cut the resonator off after crushing it.

5 years in Atlanta stop and go traffic in all seasons. I never had an issue. If I had to do it again, I would certainly extend it, but I don't thing it's critical.
