Well... today is a sad day for me. I've had to come to the realization that my '88 FJ62 has reached a level of impracticality I can't afford any longer.

She is in great condition - had a tranny rebuild in 2010 - only a few thousand miles since. But she needs a new/rebuilt transfer case now and I just can't swing it.

If anyone is interested - or knows someone in the SC Lowcountry area that would be interested - please let me know. No rust, very clean - I get compliments all the time. The thought of her sitting in a salvage yard is unbearable. I'm really hoping someone will keep her going.

Damn this is hard...

Sadly,

ouch. Sorry to hear about the potential loss. I wish it was in California because I am on the hunt for an 88 in good condition.

be sure to list it on Mud first, hopefully that way you can find it a good home... i hate to hear of anyone having to sell a vehicle they truely love...

Look into shipping, from what others have stated you can normally find reasonable shipping companies that will do cross country shipping for around $500, if that is in your budget.

Sucks for the loss... post up in your local forums too.

Will you please post some pics inside and out, sorry to hear that you have to let her go.i would post it on classifieds and hopefully a good mudder will end up with it.:frown:

Post on the upstate cruiser page and the Lowcountry land cruiser page. In he clubhouse section. Lots of us in sc. Might be able to help you out or help find her a good home. Don't give up yet. Post up your location.

Is it the one pictured in your garage? If so you are making a mistake selling due to a bad tcase! Do like scott said and post in the lowcountry site.

Look for a used tcase to get you by for now. If you truly need the cash then I understand but if your only selling it due to the tcase then try to hang onto it

:steer:Mruff,

Don't sell !!!! I pick up a rebuilt kit for my 1985 fj cruiser from TLC out of Burbank ca. The kit has all the stuff needed to re-build the txfer case. The price was $218 with shipping. Don't sell the cruiser you will regret it. Good cruiser don't grow on trees.....but sometimes they get suck in them.
