I'm like you bro,, I think it'd be sweet.. If for some reason I didn't like it I could always go UP, I think some black rims would look nice also,,

if you do go ghetto on us... Make sure you post some pics... not 31's or 22's but those retro muscle car rims like the ones they place on resto'd chargers and stangs come's to mind.....

Cuzz I think I've had my fill of older montecarlos with 30" rims for now. It's funny though... They have more clearance than my 80... go fig...

For those who don't know ... I live in da'hood and well tiny cars with monster rims with rubberband tires are all too common here...:frown: but a propperly tuned/lowered hotrod type 60 with a 502 will turn heads round here.:D

Welcome!
:cheers:

Black yes, lowered no

I guess the desire to stand out has overwhelmed you. A good black paint job will do the trick and I would support that, but to lower a cruiser...retch! Raise the SOB and you will get more understanding looks. Lower it and you will get the "Who's that dork look?" by most people.

I've never been swayed by the wow factor, a great looking truck is , what it is,, whether it's 1 inch high or 10 foot high. I think 62's have a grace to them that when lowered would be a really nice, granted they also look great raised. I'm glad they make more than 1 flavor of ice cream...

This is one of my favourite 60's;

If you want it really low, put a 62 body on a lowered minitruck frame. There was an black 80 series done that way in japan. The rockers were about 2inchs of the ground.

dude for a lowered ride on these vintage beasts how bout that oem sand/tan color.....now that is SWEET. Try to contact old school toyota tuners in SOCAL they can prob fab up some performance parts for the wagon....man its gonna look tight.

for some reason a lowered 62 is gonna look like an undercover swat car to me especially w/ black rims...

now a slammed sand/tan all original 60 series with no tint and a fresh paintjob...now thats cali style.:grinpimp:

Bonzo, let me first say Welcome. Most of the people on this forum are into offroading, but some are more into the "bling". One of the guys in the 80 series section, "LXtreme" has a lowered 80 series with all sorts of cool bling on it. Some of the other folks don't see the piont in lowering a vehicle designed to be used offroad, but different strokes for different folks. It's your truck and you can do whatever you want to it. Good luck and :cheers:
:idea:
where is the original post for this i can't find it...

All Black, no chrome, Mean front and rears. Hella's Black magics on top with a defender rack, Safari rack, Trimmed rear quarters, Sliders, black rims and 35's, and Ghost Rider flaming skulls running the side...am I forgetting something....OH YEAH ! :eek: Vortec or Dura max with everything in stainless line and blacked out grille. OK I think I got wood NOW!
