I had been "mudding" a few times in my 100, I read that dirt traps moisture and therefor prematurley rusts things. What could I do to coat my exhuast pipes underneath to prevent the mud/dirt from sitting directly on the metal. I really dont need a rusty underside. I would like to take care it. I cant drop the pipes down due to no jack/expeirence. What would a good paint/anti-rust spray on be?

Thanks alot, how long does it take to rust through? of course not over night but any thing that is above normal wear is bad.

Wash it every time it gets muddy.

Really.

I only wash the body of my truck two or three times a year, but I will hose down the underside any time it gets dirty. Wash it, let it dry, and you're good to go.

I personally wouldn't worry about the exhaust too much, your exhaust is very, very corrosive, so the exhaust will eventually rust away no matter what you do.

It's the other stuff I'd worry about, and that is all painted from the factory. All should need to do is keep it clean.

PS-this applies after driving in the snow if they use chemicals to treat the roads there as well.

any tips on keeping grit out of moving areas? control arms, CV boot seals. I know pressure washing blows grit into the seals, but thats all that can move Georgia clay. this stuff is so stick you have to hit it with a pressure washer about 3 inches away for it to budge. and it stains tires like hell.

oh yea, thanks alot dan. (no snow or chemicals down here, just alot of traffic)
