rust bullet first or self etching primer??

I'm getting ready to paint the 62. the original color was white im repainting a greyish olive. after fixing the rust spots ( mostly surface rust some cut and patch) and roughing up the old paint can I use rust bullet as a sealer coat and then use a self etching primer or should I lay the primer and then the rust bullet? This is my first paint job so any info would be awesome

My understanding of Rust Bullet is that the only place to use it is first.

Good question as I want to understand the capabilities of self-etching primer...
