I have been considering putting my stock FJ62 rear springs on the back of my 40 (currently sprung over, FJ55 springs) for an additional increase in WB.
I saw this on RuffStuff's site 2+ Perch Kit - RuffStuff Specialties And thought, neat idea, but I have my reservations.
1. My buddies 67 Nova attached in the same way (no U-bolts) and we actually lost the rearend on it driving to the strip once (drag radials, 500Hp do not mix).
2. Leverage, that is going to induce a ton of twist into the rear, I am running a traction bar but still have my concerns.
3. Well, no third reason, just wanted to look "busy".
What say all of you, I am curious and VERY close to pulling the trigger? This setup would net me a 4 inch gain in my current wheelbase (98 inches) without having to cut the stock spring mounts off (which I am not against but would rather avoid the hassle).
