and you'll be providing a critical role for the FJ Cruises... one the Trail Teams are very excited about... serving as walking spotter!!! Most awesome.
Heck if ya switch rides to the Thursday straight thru you could be a jogging spotter:D

I'm thinking of going to the end of the trail in Tahoma to watch cruisers come out on Sunday? Any directions to the end of the trail? What time will they be making it out? thanks. Is it right off Hwy 89. Thanks
scott from South Carolina

Pack'n my FJC tonight for morning departure tomorrow. Hope to make into Shingle Springs by Sunday night so I can meet with the Inchworm guys Monday morning for a modification or two before meeting up with my group on Wed noon.

Can't wait to meet everyone and visit a region with my daughters that we haven't seen for over 10 years. This is going to be an epic trip for us, one which I hope makes a positive and permanent impression on my girls, making them as dedicated to being in the outdoors as I am...

Wow-If you are coming from NC, you will likely win the Iron Butt award. Very cool and dedicated of you in this time of expensive fuel.

There is a guy coming from France, but he isn't driving.:D

I'm stoked. Tons to do before next Saturday departure, though...

THANKS to everyone here for all your help answering questions and all you suggestions. We are as ready as we can get. I am using this weekend to finsih packing and see how everything is going to fit LOL. See you all next week.

Yes-The water is pretty good, but I would not drink it without boiling it.

We will have our shower shelter all set up next to the 40 and 2 bags to heat up water so feel free to come over say hi and make use of it for those not bringing one .

My deepest apologies if this has been answered already but I not gonna take the time to search.....

What is the campfire/briquette situation? Big no-no or no problemo?

Finished the knuckle rebuild, wheel bearings, Diamond wide kit and a few other little things today. Took it out for a spin and amazingly it all stayed together. :p Still need to change the diff fluid, set the swr on the CB, get some more spare parts, shop, pack, drive and wheel. Looking forward to hitting the trail SOON!

NOTE: As for Camp Fires, Maybe Depends upon the Weater, No Wind and the Caretaker in the Springs, Bring propane stoves and BBQ's, If your BBQing with charcoal check with Tony or the Caretaker First,

Previous post: truck's running like shi*; bringing 6 cans of starter fluid.

Add 600 lbs of payload.

Not a good combo there John.

Find someone to look at the truck.

Be safe...........mellonhead!:p

You'll need to pick up a fire permit, and we won't know the status of fires until Tuesday.

Propane power is the key.

If you get a permit, then you can have camp fires. They will check and ticket.

We have a guy riding with us from Germany, so that beats France :)
If it comes down to a wrestling match (and it always does), my money is on FryDaddy - one of the those guys. Can you bring him Paul?

As noted, we simply won't know for sure until Tuesday. Right now, fires appear to be a go but we are experiencing high winds and low humidity.

Bring/plan for propane cooking. Someone in your group could bring a briquette BBQ and briquettes in case fires are a good. And not too much extra weight if No Go.

There will be plenty of firewood as we are the 1st large group in each year.

I understand what a challenge this can be for those of you with long distances to travel. Sorry for the sketchy info and wishy-washy instructions.

Propane bottle, briquette barbecue and briquettes should fit easily into my carry-on. No problem! :D
