I will have my box of stuff, Alternator, water pump, hoses, fuel pump, birffs. extra warn hub. dizzy and other small stuff. I carry an assortment of tools and air compressor. all for a F. Thanks for the updates everyone I told Wendy ( the wife ) its time this week to start packing and see how this is all going to fit.
 
The lighter you can pack, the better.

Remember, keep your clothes up higher, and ideally at least one change of clothing in a waterproof(zip lock) container. It really sucks to have wet clothes at the end of the day, and there are some water crossings. I've had water in mine, and I'm on 36's, with SOA and 2 1/2 lift...

Action packers art a nice water resistant option... And makes it easy to load/unload quickly

As noted, this is a "linear" event. If you break and need something you'll likely be staying (camping) with your rig on the trail while you solicit help/parts from the near constant line of cruisers that will be passing by. If necessary, a rescue or parts run sent "backwards" against the flow of traffic, is best done at night. And yes, there are several people who relish such rescue missions.

While lighter is better, heavily laden (self contained/self supported) rigs on the trail is a fact of life at Rubithon. It's one of my favorite aspects of the event.
 
Medical and Communications

Hello All,

I'm fairly new to this 'posting' gig but have been a long time TLCA member for 20 years. I'm the Medical Comm Chair for Rubithon. We have a very experienced group of BLS and ALS providers. Because of the logistics of this run we could always use assistance in an emergency. If you have any medical training from basic 1st aid to a Doctor and would be willing to use your training in an emergency please let me know what run you are going to be on.

I'm finallizing an IAP (Incedent Action Plan) for the run. It will include all emergency info as well as a Communication Plan. All Committee people will have a copy. If I can figure out how to post in this forum I will.

The wagon run communications will be Ham based. I'll have a CB I think, but 99% of the run coordination will be on either the Norcal1 or Norcal2 frequency. I think the Colorado guys are familiar with running on 146.460 (Norcal1). I encourage anyone on the wagon run to have a 2m radio in the truck. CB is not sufficient to reach from the front to the back of the run.
My brother in law has a 2m radio I can borrow I just need to get it in the cruiser I will pick it up Monday I hope its what your talking about I will find out Monday when I pick it up Thanks

Lets call the friday run full, the FJ Cruiser run full, and Big Jim's 7 Am is certainly full.

We have a little room on the Thurs Buck with Bill Jackson... and there is plenty of room on the Wentworth Springs run with Ross Kuxma leaving Wednesday. If you want low stress and low traffic, this is the run to be on if you can get the time off.

Any more Wagon run attendees will need to confirm with Andy.

I will post a run list on the web site Monday for everyone to see. Also, if you just sent me your registration, Confirmations might not even go out as we are so close. Check run list Monday on Rubithon site.

Any registration after sunday, if accepted, needs to include the $25 late fee because you procrastinated so long. :)

Thanks to Dave and Ben who spent all day yesterday with me packing goody bags and boxing raffle prizes. It is looking very exciting!
 
Weather for Rubithon?

I checked with weather.com for Tahoma, CA. Is that close enough to get an accurate idea? The projected was 70 degree highs and 40 degree lows. If so, it couldn't be much more perfect.

i dont have much training in the medical area, but will have a big ass bag of supplies i got from medical on base, willing to help out though.

Hi Bruce!

My H and I received our CERT training/certification last year, which included full CPR and light search and rescue. No real-life/practical experience, but we'll brush up on the lit before the trip. We'll help if needed - Ann

Lots of CB's in effect. Bring a cb. For long range comm there is plenty of 2m and sat phones on the trail.
 
Pre-Run

Things are looking good and we cant wait for this trip. Wendy and I went out yesterday and did a test run with the new tent and camp shower The tent is awsome the Shower need work. Looks like we will be going back to the ol standard WEED SPRAYER SHOWER :beer: Its easyer to move around and I dont have to hang it on anything. Guys we also put together the bucket bag and kitty litter set up. Again you guys rock simple and easy to use :cheers: See you there

Lets call this event full for 2008.

What a flurry of registrations over the weekend. The efforts to have everyone register on time has paid off...
