Planning is in full force for Rubithon 2008. Tony Twiddy our illustrious Chairman is mad at work planning what could be the the Greatest Rubithon of all time. The "Hall of Fame Run". He is even promising that it won't snow. His promise held true in 2007 and we had some of the best weather I have experienced while camping.

Yes, Tony is calling up past committee members and other past volunteers, as well as, enlisting new ones. Thanks to Tony I have a Co Chairman this year for the raffle, Jerod Knox, AKA 2ndGenToyotaFan. If you are interested in supporting the event with a raffle prize please contact one of us via PM and we can work out the logistics.

The registration form is not out yet but look for it in an upcoming issue of Trails magazine and at the Rubithon web site at Rubithon (click on the word Rubithon). While you are their be sure and check out the Sponser support page at Rubithon Sponsors and see the list of companies that donated to the event in 2007. Is your company listed ? If not be sure and donate to Rubithon 2008 and we will make sure you are include along side these great companies. But more importantly, when you look at the list remember which companies support this and other TLCA events and support them by buying their products. When you do this be sure to thank them personally for their support of Rubithon and/or the other events.

Registration form for Rubithon 2008 is here:

Hot diggity, can't wait.

Tony-I may just try and get the Rising Sun guys into the back of my run, since I know many of them. We'd have one big super run. I understand Robbie will be their informal leader and a valuable comittee member. I've also run numerous times with Ross and his crew so that Wednesday run is going to rock.

Dave-I'll bet you'll be trying hard to keep the rubber side down this year! You have just about the best looking Cruiser at Rubithon. The raffle has to be the second hardest job at Rubithon-thanks for doing it again.

Yep hope to keep all 4 wheels on the rocks, at least most of the time. Rig still looks a little banged up though. Have not fixed the body work yet. Have an ORION this year so the trail should be a whole new experience. I am fortunate to have have Jerod helping with the Raffle this year so it should bea little easier and a more relaxing at the springs.

changes, FJ Cruiser group with FJ Trail Teams confirmed, but moved to Wednesday noon from Loon.

The FJ group will be kept small and capable, no stock rigs. This group will be the last formal group on Wednesday, targeting Ellis or ideally, further up the trail such as Walker or Soup bowl for camping wed night.

Thursday, the FJ CRuiser group will pull over for Big Jim straight thru, and will balance entry to Buck with Bill's group, perhaps at the slabs. FJ Cruiser group will target upper buck and the saddle for camping Thursday night. The FJ cruiser group will then wait in camp FRiday for both Bill and Georg to leave Buck for Big Sluice, and then the FJ CRuiser group will fall in behind Georg group as they head for big sluice. FJ group will ideally be at bottom of big sluice before Friday morning group hits it friday afternoon. All groups in Spring by Friday evening.

These details were just worked out, need to contact Trail team and confirm. All Rubithon Trail leads have bought off on this plan... and realize that by working together, showing patience and courtesy, all drivers will be in on time.

Tony,
I'll be doing an outlaw run again this year, not sure on all the details yet.
Joaquin

I will be sweeping with marlin again, worked out great in 07 why not do it on 08 - already stacking up a pile for the raffle.

Tony:

Make sure you rename the "informal George run" as the "Renegade Run", it just fits with the image better:)

Can't wait, I already got a spot on the informal george...uh, renegade hard core run:)

Looking forward to making my first trip on the 'con. I think I will be trying to get in on one of the early morning Thursday runs. Hopefully will have a few other first time TLCA members from my area with me. Tony said my 80 was ready for Rubithon and we shall see.

You need to be on the wagon run and that's Wednesday. It was epic last year, and we held our own against the nay-sayers.

I would love to hit up the wagon run but don't think I can get out any earlier unfortunately.

I'll be looking for continuing help from the kitchen volunteers. This will be Terri's last year, and she's gonna help me transition to head cook. So all of you out there that have helped in the past, I look forward to your continuing support ;)
