Noticed mine fxxxed off at some point before I owned it, 1 of 3 remaining. Just looks like its to keep crud out of the seam.

I have had a few pieces of black trim get a little loose.

Here's a tip. Buy a tube of Permatex Black RTV sealant. I work in the mining industry, and the field operators were having trouble keeping their identification plates attached to machinery. They would glue them down, but after a few seasons of freeze-thaw cycles, the plates would fall off and disappear into the mud. They then started using black RTV and all their problems disappeared. The RTV is not only extremely adhesive, but also allows for a lot of flex. After I started putting a bead of RTV on my trim, it stopped vibrating and stopped coming off.

Just my $0.02.

Thanks Mscruiser. I use the stuff for other things as well. Great product. I just can't understand why this is an issue on a new Lexus. My old 100 didn't lose a single piece of trim in the 16 years I owned it.

I guess "They don't make 'em like they used to".
