All I know about RTIC ( supposed to sound like arctic but they left out the first 'C' sound :bang:) is they've been able for pre-purchase for @ least 6 months. Last I heard is nobody had received 1 yet. Kind of ridiculous. I have a Pelican:
100% made in America
100% lifetime warranty
about 1/3 less than Yeti
better handles, latches, hinge
thicker, more robust 'shell'

Interesting, I was wondering about the pre-purchase thing. Doesn't sound too good. I'll check out Pelican. I like their cases.

Yeti is jealous cause their products are dumb. I've never seen them do well in any cooler comparison I've read, they cost the same amount as a cheaper offroad fridge but don't hold as much because you have to add five sacks of ice. They are all marketing and they look fancy. Still just a cooler...

I would have never bought a Yeti, but was gifted a 65 quart. It is awesome. We do a lot of canoe camping. I have a few other decent coolers. None hold ice like the Yeti. I can load the Yeti in the summer on Thursday night and I still have lots of ice and cold drinks on Sunday night, when we get home. The other coolers are out of ice by Saturday morning. It is worth the money to have cold drinks paddling Saturday and Sunday on three day trips.

I bought a pelican 65 quart last night after doing a ton of research. I never saw the RTIC. It looks just like Yeti for a lot less than any other 7-10 day cooler. However delivery date was estimated to be April 2016. That is a big never mind for me.

I pre-ordered months ago. Recently remembered and called them. My delivery date is Jan. 10, 2016 (ordered in july). I cancelled, don't want to wait to be told they were bankrupted by Yeti and no cooler

I hope get your money back. Unless the company is solid preordering anything is a no no for me. A lot of people lost 10's of thousands pre-ordering pinball machines from people that were thought to be trustworthy (Zidware and Skit-B).

It sounds like (at least on the website) that they are waiting for a large order to cut down on shipping costs from China.
I did this with a kickstarter company company call road shower. He did deliver and kept us in the loop and it was a great product.

I have a feeling that they can't ship anymore due to the lawsuit. I wouldn't order one from them till that is over.

I found another Yeti knockoff but they also seem to be on backorder.

I got one of the RTIC 30 oz cups a week or so ago. Looks EXACTLY like my Yeti cup but only cost $19. I have yet to test it out tho..

The Yeti excels in keeping ice. It is not as good at keeping coffee warm. Likely due to the fact that heat rises..

I'll update when I have a chance to compare the cups.

here they are, they look identical. I'll fill them with ice and water and see how long they last next to the oven :)

How did they do?

Both melted by morning lol

Thanks for the link. It goes to show the volume number makes a difference. Pelican understates size and performs well. Yeti overstates size and under performs. I believe the pelican would have won if it wasn't bigger because extra volume with the same ice as others means it has to work harder. I just priced Canyon Coolers and Pelican is cheaper on Amazon. I can't wait to try out my Pelican 65.

Too bad RTIC didn't blatantly rip off Yeti because it looked to be a great value. What a Yeti should cost.

I love my canyon cooler
