Got in some new bushings from Radflo and I am trying to install them. These seem to be larger than my previous ones and I cannot get enough thread with the shock to get the nut on top. I have the front suspension compressed and the opposite rear end jacked up to put even more pressure on the lower bushing so that it compresses enough to get more thread on top.

This is how much thread I have showing at the top with the truck like this. Any ideas on how to get the nut on there.

it was definitely tricky when I did it. I put a bottle Jack under the lca to push everything up and then only had maybe 2 threads to start it. I never had to mess with the opposite rear.

I had contacted Radflo as one of my front bushings had broke apart. My washers (on the front only) also started to fan upwards. Glenn sent me new washers and new bushings for all 4 shocks.
All of the bushings are identical, and the washers are about double the thickness of my front shocks washers. My rear shocks washers look to be about the same thickness, but I also got my rear shocks a little while after my fronts.

From left to right, new old new old

Try turning the rubber bushings over so the smaller diameter protrusion sits in the shock mount...ditto for the lower bushing. This might get you enough to get the nut threaded...

Tried that as well. Also tried putting in the little metal centering ring in from the top, none of that worked. I still cannot even see the top of the stem with the washer on top. The old bushings for the front are about half as thick as the new ones. With a new bushing on bottom, I was able to just barely get one of the old bushings on top with the old thinner washer.

I think it's pretty clear you've got the wrong bushings.

I have a pretty recent set of Radflo shocks all the way around. I have those newer washers and my bushings were not that thick and starting the nut was not hard to do.

I believe so as well. I put back on the one good bushing on that side and put the new big one on the bottom. Just so that id be able to put it back together. I shot Glenn a PM so I am sure he will get back to me as soon as he can.

Man, that sucks! I would be so anxious to get everything buttoned back up that the wait for new parts would drive me crazy. You could use your old bushings for a few days on the new shocks until Radflo gets the new bushings to you.

Also, would you mind posting a bunch of install pics and pics form all underneath angles on the rear driver side once the job is complete? I still worry about my rear driver's side shock positioning as it has touched the brake line in the past.
