We were on our way to Ouray, Moab etc when our LX570 started sputtering and died and now won't start. We are waiting on a tow back to Mitchell, SD. Is there anyone near this area can be of assistance. We are 1500 miles from home and needless to say not familiar with the area.

That stinks man. I’ve been in similar situations. I’m not in the area so can’t offer much help. Breaking down on Saturday night in SD is rough as you are not likely to find a professional mechanic help until Monday. You will likely have to go back to Sioux Falls. I broke my Taco this summer near Custer SD and no shop could do anything for a week. Lucky I was able to fix my issue myself.

Do you have a code reader? Does the ignition turn in? Does it try to start? If you can describe symptoms in more detail, the hive here may be able to help diagnose.

I see you posted on the Dakota Territory club forum. Good call. I was going to cross post it for you.

Car tries to start but won't, there's oil underneath which is concerning, looks to be coming from front seal area. I just had my mechanic inside the timing cover and replaced chains, guides tensioner etc. It's ran fine for approximately 8k miles since.

try to get a code reader somehow. Cheap at any autoparts store. Maybe the tow truck guy has one?

I have one with me, it says p0011 which leans towards vvt. That wouldn't account for the oil underneath the car seemingly coming from the front cover area.

Not offering any expert info beyond Google here:

Seems like it could be oil related.

How much oil is still in the engine?

Dipstick shows adequate oil, as soon as it lit up I deleted over but at 75 mph, it can't be good inside

Why do you think it can’t be good inside with adequate oil? Make any noises?
