For check No. 1 ^− No.2

1.Turn the ignition switch on.

2.Press the control switch to SET/COAST or RES/ACC position and hold it down.

3. Push the main switch on

4. Check that the CRUISE MAIN indicator light blinks twice or 3 times repeatedly after 3 seconds.

5. Turn the SET/COAST or RES/ACC switch off.

6. Operate each switch as listed in the table below.

7. Read the blinking pattern of the CRUISE MAIN indicator light.

8. After performing the check, turn the main switch off.

I cannot get my CC system to perform according to the diagnostic procedure in the second step of check 3-6, if I understand correctly a green CC light should be On and steady and turn off each one of the 4 switches is pressed. And come back on steadily after the switch relished my CC light is OFF all the time.

This may be because of the malfunction in my CC system or because there is a mistake in the FMS?

Can someone with proper working CC report ?

For reference the FMS pages

my cc works great and I couldn’t get mine to 3-6 either. Not sure why. but all of the other checks went as described. I tried to take a video but there wasn’t anything to see.

I used the paperclip method to read the codes from the diagnostic port. It was much easier.

Mine still works intermittently like seemingly everyone else's.

@voodu3 thank you for your help

So in tests 3-6 with gear in D the CC in diagnostics mode the CC light is OFF ?

Maybe I didn't understand the FMS?

@ZackR I did the paper-clip thing my code is 12 according to FSM you need to do both

Do you think that everyone else's works intermittently?

I have a 94, my cruise control works fine.
I had to unplug the master cylinder a few years ago as the sensor in there went bad. It was sending the brake warning light which would cause cruise control to shut off.

They are finicky if you fuel tank is 1/4 less will not work ( On mine at least ), some times brake fluid level messes with it, Oh yeah the plug get's dirty and the CC gear box maybe dirty and need to be rebuilt/cleaned grease . I think I have covered it all . I do love to use mine 70 MPH up a 7% grade 🤭

Hi @Travis 76 would you be willing to help me and preform the test in msg #1?

After I tried to fix the CC problem by myself mainly by throwing parts at it and didn't succeed and could not make it work

I decided to go on a 2 week vacation in Thailand and leave the rig at Sagol Toyota dealership for diagnostics and fix

My independent Toyota FZJ 80 expert closed his business and went to work at a Toyota dealership so all customers come there

They fixed it, I am so happy its crisp and fast response.
