Does anybody have a good pictue of how to do this? I have done a bit of research and found where someone said that the plug wires to get were for a 75 vette-- one with HEI and Ramshorn. GM Part number 12043740.

I am not sure if these would have straight or 90 degree plug wires-- but I guess they would be right if they are for HEI and ramshorn.

Anyway, if anyone has picture or tips on how to best route these plug wires I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Jared

the straight boots work best with ram horn manifolds and depending if center bolt valve covers or older ones you can go to the auto parts store and just buy some MrGasket (or who ever) wire looms that go under the valve cover mounting bolts to secure them and route them to the individual cylinders. i dont know about the vette part # but as long as they are for HEI and straight boot for the SBC motor you will be fine. sorry no pic right now

If you don't want to spend the big bucks on after market plug wires, you can use chevy big block wires on your sbc. Most are 8mm and have the straight boot.

Hey Jared, you can have a look at mine at the next CSC Sonic meet. I've got Taylor wires with 45 degree boots run through looms mounted on the valve cover bolts. Been working great for years.

I used the 90 degree boots and looks great. The straight boots puts the spark plug wires closer to the exhaust. Just my .02 :D

Just an FYI, the Corvettes also had a couple of heatshields on each side that went between the wires and manifolds....

GM dealer should be able to get them...I got a set (4 req) brand new about 6 yrs ago from a dealer....

I got a set of wire holders that run down the back of the engine, and come up to the plugs from under the manifolds (from a speed shop). I think that is how the Corvettes ran them.

I made my own using parts from summit and routed them behind and under the rams horns. Kind of expensive and a pain in the ass, but I got exactly the lengths and end fittings I needed or wanted for the vortec. I'd love to find a pre-made application that worked as well, just for future reference. I have thermal socks on them at the plugs and have had no issues with heat.
