Anyone have any experience with rounded brake line nuts? This is on on of the two rubber brake hoses under the rear near the spare. Trying to change out all the old rubber and of course I’m stuck on the last one. I’d love not to have to get a whole new metal section

You have to use a flarenut wrench for those, they round out easily if you use a regular open wrench. At this point soak it in PB blaster and get a good fitting flarenut wrench to try and get it out.

This exactly. Flarenut wrench is a must for brake lines. With it already being somewhat stripped, what I've done in the past is get the correct size flarenut wrench on there, then use a big set of visegrips to clamp down on the outside of the flarenut wrench so it can't expand and jump off because of whats already rounded off. It's worked for me in the past on slightly rounded off brake lines.

You may run into second problem with flares. Seems the factory over torqued some of these flares. For me it was on left side. My parts guy new the PN # by heart for new hard line. Seems dealerships and shop like Slee just replace line if flare is cracked. I was able to fill down some flares to fit back nicely. But one your on I cut off and re-flared.

Didn't know flarenut wrenches are a must for brake lines :bang:
Unfortunately if I had to replace the line, it is one of the ones that runs the length of the rig up to the front. It at least looks like a pain in the ass to do. Also, how do you re-flare a line? Amateur hour right now I know but am curious.

Use Irvins V jaw vise grip. Get the 4 inch grip to work 8 to 12 mm nuts and bolts. It always work! I had many rounded flare nuts and this grip worked all the time.
