Hello all,
I’ve been having some issues on my 92’ 3fe.
A few weeks ago my rpms were surging to just over 2000 rpm at idle, as soon as I’d put it in gear or give it some throttle it would stall. I tested the continuity and resistance on all the sensors and relays associated with the efi system, and I found that my air flow meter was bad (resistance was out of spec when the measuring plate was both fully closed and anything other than closed). I got a new afm and replaced both intake hoses leading to the throttle body, I made sure all of the vacuum lines were in tact and connected properly. It’s been about a week and I haven’t had that problem again. However, It’s been rough to start when cold, 10-30 seconds of cranking before it fires up. Once it does start it idles rough, almost like a misfire, until it warms up. It starts fine at operating temp and the rough idle will last about 5-10 seconds then goes away. I have one diagnostic code (22) for the water temp sensor signal. I am currently waiting for the sensor to come in. Is it possible for a bad water temp sensor to cause these rough starts? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
