Sorry its been slow going. Haven't done a lot, just messing with the motor and starting to get ready to sand blast the frame. Will post pictures as soon as I get some taken.

Well got a little side tracked. Had to weld some floor pans into a 65 VW for a friend of mine. Back to work on the FJ tomorrow. Will be working on the motor, trying to get it ready to paint. Then on to the frame and getting it sand blasted and painted so I can change the body over. Here are some pictures of the VW work

No he didn't like the Fred Flintstone look at all. I am fixing to push the whole thing outside, because he doesn't come over to help work on it. I am not going to work on it for free either. More to come !!!!!!!!

Well got busy on the tear down of the 4BD1 today. Got the generator, turbo, exhaust manifold, all turbo duct work, intake manifold off, and started taking the injection pump off. Took some pictures with the cell phone but while I was mowing the yard today, it died on me. Will try and post some pictures of the tear down tonight.

Here are some pictures of the partial tear down. May be ready for paint by next week. Attached Images

Well got the injection pump off of the motor. I think someone has had this off before. There were two mount bolts that were loose and pretty much just hand tight...........All right you Isuzu 4BD1 guys, I need a little help here. In the second picture you can see a housing that was behind the IP. This housing has a crack about 5-7 inches long. First what is this housing and second, is the crack bad enough to replace it. Thanks Guys,,,,,RYAN

I have a boner for those old airculd VWs. Owned a bunch of them. I remember when floor pans were $ 99.

Well not much to update. Got the frame cart all finished up. Did a little work on cleaning up the diesel motor. I did however get a chance to see my first FJ45. I guy by the name Adam "Zombie Response Unit" came by to check out my progress and drove over in the 45. It is way cool and almost wish that I had one. It is a stock diesel and sounded awesome. Can't wait to get mine up and running. Here are a few pictures of the frame cart.

You are right sir, it's the oil cooler. The guy that I bought the motor from has another one and gonna do some trading for the replacement oil cooler.

I do not have any digital pics of mine. I should scan some. I stopped messing them before digital cameras  It was serious illness. When people say you were "bitten by the bug" it was metaphorically and literally correct!

Yes it is an illness once you are bit by the "bug". They are so easy to work on and so much fun. If I had the time and money, I probably would have about 3 or 4 more. :)

Now you own a cruiser so you will never have time or money again!:D

True that, my wife keeps on asking what else I need to buy so I will quit spending money. Told her it was a never ending battle

Well work has been busy this week, havn't had much time to work on the 60. Gonna have some time next week and should be able to get some things done. Will try to get the frame sandblasted and get the motor painted. Sorry for the slow build thread, funds are running low and time is tight also. It will hopefully pick up in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned!!!

Whats the star for Hugh ???
