I'd like to hear about that ladder on the back of your rig........ :)

JDT

Looks great on your cruiser, which is the same year and color as mine. ;-)

That is one of the several option that Luke at 4X4labs.com has on his rear bumper. It is the best bumper on the market and can do it all. Spare tire, hitch, ladder, ladder with jerry cans, bike rack and even a rear winch with a hitch. Lowest profile bumper made etc.

Yes I love this bumper and ladder. And it is perfect for a rear entry RTT!

PS the ladder also holds my jack!

I have seen the camping lab products, and must say they are nice, nice, nice!

I have one of the first tents Fernando sold. I'm very very happy with it, althought I'm honestly biased as I've wheeled with him. I will say he is first class, has an awesome industrial condo/shop with all the tools and skills to fab some incredible stuff (he makes bumpers that are nicer than ARB in some ways), and he's honest, forward and just a really kool fellow. Ask him any questions you have, he'll be upfront with you.

Have a ladyfriend who camped with me on our last trial ride, she's a mosquito magnet and she thought the tent was the bomb. I had him fab up some steel racks that fit in the back of my duramax so the tent rides over the bed. It'll go there for events I trailer to, and on top of my FJ40 or 74 Land Rover 88" Series III.

Also - he just sponsored or attended two events up in Virginia or North Carolina last month - I forget which, you might want to see if you can't find a more unbiased opinion, but I'm certain everyone will re-affirm what I've stated here.

I've also bought the awning - but havn't gotten a chance to get it mounted yet.

Seen and used camping lab equipment and all I can say is woooooooowwwwwwwww. Really nice stuff . Expidition trailers are the tops.

Havnt used his tents but have seen camping labs products and they are top notch. He makes a good gumbo to boot.:D Helluva stand up guy!!!

Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate MUD opinions and they will help me make my decision!

Take care!

The look just like the new mombasa rtt but in a different color.

Our tents are pretty much the same as the Mombassa, the only difference is that ours come with a high density foam 3" thick mattress and the canvas used is a little different.

We back all our products with a one year no hassle warranty that covers everything but mold damage as long as the products are used for their intended purpose.

I recently have gotten to see campinglab's products up close, they seem to be of great quality, have heard only good things from others about there stuff, and i met Fernando in person and he's a great guy, would rather give him my business then someone who is less deserving... best of luck to all..

I would love to have one if the price wasn't so steep. Getting to old to lay on the ground anymore.

yeah, one thing that is exceptionally nice about rooftop tents is that the nice ones have really good built in foam mattresses, which I love. I've never been able to get into using air pads.

Thanks for bumping this old thread as I had not seen it before.
Nice to see how Mike started out by offering these tents, and since I dig all things AutoHome, I have some reading to do in this old thread.

The internal mattresses really are nice. I also keep and encourage customers to keep their sleeping bags, blankets and possibly pillows inside the tent. Doing so enables even faster camp set-up and gets more gear out of your vehicle. When I get to camp I don't like taking forever to set up and take down camp. I want to be comfortable and relaxing fast.

I typically have two summer-weight bags, two blankets, and sometimes pillows stored inside my Mombasa.
