Roof Rust and thinking outside the box

Most of us except for the lucky ones with rust free 60s have some experience with roof rust caused by the gutters, now on my own 60 i cut out the rust and welded in new panels and replaced the gutters with a lightweight version that are a pretty poor excuse of a replacement. So what im looking for is Ideas for a custom roof something that will cover up the poor job i did and perhaps remove the gutters all together?.

Im thinking something i can weld on and attached a roof rack to that kind of looks like its supposed to be there.

My roof was all rusted and after several years of battle I just gave up ..

On a important note Tencha wasn't my DD at that point anymore .. and as weekend warrior, camping, off road trip platform I'm more than happy with the soft top.
