If it's a sixty series which I am assuming it is on drivers side upper door of rear hatch is a healthy wire loom which should give you many different power souces. guessing that you would have your driving lights on at any time you would be using your rack lights you can tap into a number of wires linked to those without having to drill into any sheetmetal and go fishing through the headliner .

Thanks Darren,

It is a FJ62. And as I haven't looked at the back as an option yet, is there ample room in the loom (or gasket) to fish through 3 12 ga wires? I'm not splicing into anything as each light will be on it's own switch up front. Just need to get the wires from the top, to the engine bay.

thx

Robert

personally, I run my lights nearer to the frame, so's I can stash my roof-top gear away when not needed, to reduce theft, uv damage, and increase the wintertime dd mileage.

but yr thread has several good ideas. I look forward to seeing what this one generates. A snap of your rack on yr rig, and data on whether it will be a permanent mount or removeable might help gather replies.
