Hi everyone,
I am looking for a roof rack that could be attached to the factory roof rails of my 200 series 2012/2013 model. Need one that is easy to install and take out as would only put it for some trips and not for everyday transit.
Which one do you recommend?

If you're in Southern California I have a BajaRack MegaMule I will sell that looks nice and loads well on top of factory.

Are you looking for a basket style (with sides) or just a flat load area?

I know I am reviving an old thread, but I am interested in everyone's opinion on the 200's OEM rood rack. I spend most of my time in the 80's world where the view toward OEM racks is more aligned with 'remove right away'. Looking at the construction of the 200's bars though I feel that it is a much better design. Thoughts?

I see some have mounted baskets, Jerry can and hi lift mounts to them. What about Kayak racks?

I have a Gamiviti Expo++ rack, and I recently installed a set of foldable J-bars (2 Sets Satin Black Roof Mounted Folding Kayak J-Style Racks PK-KR FOLD BLACK2) for our 2 kayaks. The J-bars would have mounted to the factory roof rack just fine, FWIW

If you're going to use J-bars, I highly recommend the folding style, otherwise the wind noise and reduced garage clearance are likely to be an issue. Even still, garages < 7' are starting to make mer nervous.

Here's a photo with the kayaks attached, and another with the J-bars folded (and light bar on).
