very very very very very very very very very very very nice.

I thought Gary's (wagoneer) build was awesome, this is going to get even better!

I know it's HUGE motor, but it sure would be cool to see a duramax/allison combo in a cruiser.

Ive actually thought about that...I am waiting for Grogan to commision me to build it for him....:grinpimp: We dont do alot of builds normally for two reasons. One, I am out of space (waiting on a 4K addition) and Second I am way critical and slow on how I work...so its diffulcult to find people willing to pay for that level of 4wd work...but they will pay for street rod /streetcar work.

Ok, here are a few more pics as we start mounting the body mounts.
We Dykem's blued the centerline and clamped up the mount to help find hole centers.

We are using a center punch w/ a V-block to mark center. The V-block keeps the punch perpindicular to the work face ensuring a 'true' center.

This is a cutter made by 'Uni-bit' that bores super accurate holes. It beats the heck out of using a hole saw which skips all over the place. They are available in quite a few sizes.

.250" Wall tubes inserted into cab with bushings in place.

Getting ready to tack the sides to the frame. Then we can remove the body and TIG the sleeves to the cab. We then will begin the process of skinning the mounts and TIG'ing the outside of the mounts to the rails.

Funny.....

Did you see how BIG that Suburban Gorilla had to be on Extreme 4x4 to fit the Duramax in it?

No thanks, I will take this anyday.

Is this your personal rig? Damn, you are getting to spend some awesome time on it.

I am very impressed with the attention to detail.

What about getting some of the pictures of your model in this thread :D

Gotta ask.. Why 2 bushings??

I don't think I can keep watching this thread because I'll start crying!!!:crybaby:

This is a seriously cool build. Awesome approach.

Where do you get these little gems? I hate making holes with the hole saw.

I buy them mailorder...they work great...not super cheap, but they last ok with a slow spped drill press or air drill.

G,
I know how big that thing was, we built the axles for that mega beast...that project got waaayyy out of control. The engine is not that big if you take the dual turbo crap off of it. Yep, this one is mine and i try to put an hour or two everyday on it. I was waiting for someone to say something about the Mrs's...let me see what I can do for you:grinpimp:...thanks for the good words. :D
