I was looking at the cage from Iron pig and a buddy said he thinks he can beat the price, He did build the cage in my 72 blazer and it was nice but expensive. Does anyone know if Iron pig would weld and install there cage, I have called but not able to get ahold of anyone yet.
If I was to have one built can someone tell me what size tubing would be best? Wall thinkness? Outside diameter?
Thanks in advance for any inputs.

The standard is usually 1.75 inch DOM tubing with .95 wall thickness. Most of the FJ40 cage builders use it and it's a good, sturdy size without getting too top heavy. Check out Iron Pig's and MetalTech's descriptions and you will find that size for their cages.

Most everyone I know uses 1.75 inch .120 walled DOM. Many of the Heep guys will go with HREW to save a little money, but I don't.

To help muddy the waters, I bent my own. In retrospect, many of the cage kits are priced very reasonably.
