Roll Cage

Red line Motorsports. Just got mine on Saturday and it rocks. $229.00 for the bar and as Justin(owner) said 98% notched already. I don't think Metaltech does that. Check out the link

Metaltech makes great bars. I've seen several of their setups. Theirs don't come 100% prenotched b/c you can't make a perfect one-size-fits-all for 30 year old trucks, many of which have tweaked frames and body panels.

Pretty sure Metaltech notches one side of the tube so you can adjust to meet your needs. I will be ordering a full cage from them in the future.

Our OEM replica cages are pre-notched for a 100% fit up. It also comes with our full roll cage mounting plate to make the cage removable. This can be a UPS item if you would like or truck freight. We have these in stock ready to ship. 503-822-1111

Red Line's factory roll bar replacement is also 100% notched, pvskibm mispoke about the 98%, that is on our family cage and our intermediate cage! I just wanted to clear that up!

Also We are putting a page together for our newest products ( 40 cages ) in the vendor section, in a day or two! This will have pics pricing ect... for all to see! These cages are our babies, superior strength and some great styling to boot!

Thanks

Justin

The good news is you can not go wrong with either vendor!! Which one is closer to you?? Might help with shipping or pickup..... Plus you are only talking the factory bar not the full cage which is where the two products differ....

Good luck and i hope you never get to test it!!!

good call

Ok so correct me if I'm wrong, I'm going of pics I have seen...

Didn't the OEM roll bar come with bolt-on brackets on the "L" shaped tubes? From what I have seen the seat belt attaches to that point as well.

rockcrawler - you're right.....the "L" is attached to the hoop by brackets and, yes, the seat belts can fasten at that point or, if you're running a hard top, can be mounted to that as well. This only applied to, I think, '75 and up 40's.....before that, I think they only had lap belts in the front.....

MetalTech is by far the best on the market. They have great customer service and are willing to answer any questions you may have.

That's correct. My 71 didn't have any roll bar so Redline's was a perfect fix for a sketchy situation, no safety bar. My next step through Redline is to have them weld the seatbelt brackets to the bar at the height I need for both my wife and me. Then, install some 3 point seatbelts from CCOT or elsewere IDK.
Great addition and much safer then what I had.

What I really appreciated with Justin and Redline was the fact that they too have GREAT customer service and for me they are local. From what I have seen with Metaltech, his product is good. What I know from Justin and Redline is his product is great FOR ME. We all know what they say about opinions.

I forgot to mention that we do have OEM seat belt mounts that we have laser cut and formed for those that want to use the factory Toyota shoulder harness. They are $39.95 to add to the order.

Ok cool, thanks for clearing that up for me.
I don't think cruisers shipped to OZ came with roll bars, at least I have not seen any OEM ones here, but then again I could be wrong not having seen every 40 series cruiser here :hmm:
I'll get in touch with you LT when I get to the roll bar fitting stage of my rebuild.
